Wumn is building a fashion designer powerhouse - a social fashion marketplace where independent designers, emerging fashion labels, boutiques, and studios can get discovered, build their brands, connect directly with customers, offer customization, and grow their businesses.

Our vision is to transform fashion from consumption to creation, where customers can bring their own inspirations, personalize their fashion, and collaborate with designers to bring their ideas to life.

We're an early-stage startup building our MVP and founding fashion community.

About the Role

We're looking for a Chief Fashion Officer who deeply understands the fashion industry, has a strong network of designers and brands, and can turn Wumn's fashion vision into a scalable business.

As a founding leadership team member, you'll own Wumn's fashion strategy, designer ecosystem, brand partnerships, merchandise curation, and overall fashion experience.

You'll work directly with the founding team to build a platform that designers want to join and customers love to explore.

Key Responsibilities

1. Fashion Strategy & Vision

- Define Wumn's fashion positioning and category strategy.
- Identify emerging fashion trends, customer preferences, and market opportunities.
- Develop the strategy for ready-to-wear, made-to-order, and customized fashion.
- Shape Wumn's identity as a designer-led fashion ecosystem.

1. Designer & Brand Ecosystem

- Identify, approach, and onboard promising independent designers, emerging labels, boutiques, and studios.
- Build long-term relationships with designers and fashion industry stakeholders.
- Lead fashion partnerships and designer acquisition.
- Create opportunities that help designers grow their businesses on Wumn.

1. Fashion Curation & Merchandising

- Develop standards for selecting fashion designers and brands.
- Define product categories, collections, and assortment strategies.
- Establish quality,



craftsmanship, design, and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with designers on differentiated collections.

1. Customization & Co-Creation

- Develop Wumn's made-to-order and customization framework.
- Define customization possibilities across fabrics, silhouettes, fits, and designs.
- Collaborate with product and technology teams on AI-assisted fashion creation.
- Translate customer inspirations into practical design briefs.

1. Business Growth & Commercial Strategy

- Collaborate with the founding team on commission structures and partnership models.
- Develop strategies to attract, retain, and grow fashion partners.
- Identify opportunities for exclusive launches and designer collaborations.
- Support customer conversion and fashion category growth.

1. Fashion Branding & Community

- Represent Wumn within the fashion industry.
- Build relationships with fashion institutes, stylists, influencers, and design communities.
- Shape designer storytelling and fashion campaigns.
- Establish Wumn as a preferred destination for emerging fashion talent.

1. Team Building & Leadership

- Build and lead Wumn's fashion and designer partnership functions.
- Establish onboarding processes, operating standards, and performance metrics.
- Work closely with the CEO, CTO, COO, and other founding team members.
- Build a strong, collaborative fashion culture.

What We're Looking For

- 7+ years of experience in fashion, merchandising, brand leadership, or designer partnerships preferred.
- Strong understanding of India's fashion industry.
- Established network of fashion designers, labels, boutiques, or studios.
- Experience in brand partnerships, fashion curation, or fashion business development.
- Understanding of fabrics, silhouettes, craftsmanship, fit, and customization.
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset and ability to execute from zero.
- Passion for fashion,



technology, and building a startup.

Initial Priorities - First 90 Days Month 1 — Foundation

- Define fashion categories and curation standards.
- Establish designer onboarding strategy.
- Build a qualified designer pipeline.

Month 2 — Ecosystem Building

- Lead designer and brand onboarding.
- Develop strategic fashion partnerships.
- Establish catalogue and customization guidelines.

Month 3 — Market Validation

- Work toward onboarding 35–50 quality designers and labels.
- Build curated collections for launch.
- Establish designer engagement and performance metrics.

Equity & Compensation Structure This is a founding leadership prospect with an equity-led compensation model.

Initial Stage — Equity-Led

- The role will initially be equity-led, reflecting Wumn's early-stage, pre-revenue position.
- The selected candidate will have an opportunity to build meaningful long-term ownership in the company.

- Equity allocation, vesting, and terms will be mutually discussed and agreed upon.

Growth Stage — Salary + Equity

- As Wumn achieves defined funding or revenue milestones and develops the financial capacity, the compensation structure is intended to transition to a combination of salary and equity.

- The salary component, timing, and revised terms will be mutually agreed upon based on the company's financial position, the candidate's responsibilities, and performance.
