Position Overview
We are seeking a creative and organized Assistant Designer cum Merchandiser with 3–4 years of experience in luxury ethnic couture. In this dual role, you will bridge the gap between design aesthetics, store operations, and production floor execution. You will be responsible for interpreting design requirements, tracking client order lifecycles, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring pristine garments are delivered on time to retail stores for client trials and handovers.
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
1. Client Order Management & Merchandising
Order Sheet Verification: Review store order sheets (measurements, sketches, photos, color specifications, and custom requests) to ensure complete accuracy before initiating production.
Order Tracking: Monitor order progress across every stage of development (fabric cutting, dyeing, khaka/embroidery layout, stitching, and finishing) using our internal order tracking system (Z Order).
Production Liaison: Coordinate continuously with factory production teams, master tailors, embroidery heads, and floor managers to maintain strict delivery schedules.
2. Design Assistance & Quality Assurance
Swatch & Color Approval: Assist in selecting, matching, and approving fabric swatches, embellishment samples, and dye lots as per original designs and client preferences.
Sample & Customization Oversight: Translate design inputs and custom tweaks accurately onto production garments without compromising the brand's aesthetic standards.
Stage-Wise Quality Control: Inspect garments at key production stages to ensure stitching precision, flawless embroidery, exact measurements, and zero defects prior to store dispatch.
3. Store Coordination & Timely Delivery
Store Delivery Scheduling:
Ensure completed garments are dispatched to Chandni Chowk and Mehrauli stores on or before the committed trial/delivery dates.
Store Merchandiser Alignment: Maintain open communication with in-store sales consultants and merchandisers regarding order statuses, delivery updates, or design queries.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
On-Time Delivery Rate: 100% adherence to promised client delivery dates at retail stores.
Order Accuracy: Zero errors in measurements, customizations, or embellishment details as per client order sheets.
Quality Compliance: Minimal defect/rework rate during stage-wise and final QC inspections.
Z Order System Compliance: Timely and accurate status updates logged in the tracking software.
Candidate Profile & Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Fashion Design or Garment Manufacturing Technology from a recognized institute (NIFT, Pearl, or equivalent).
Experience: 3–4 years of hands-on experience in design assistance, order tracking, and production coordination within high-end luxury bridal wear or ethnic couture.

Strong knowledge of Indian bridal garment construction, silhouettes, fabrics, and surface ornamentation (zardozi, ari, dabka, threadwork).
Proficiency in understanding measurement sheets, technical sketches, and production specs.
Familiarity with order tracking systems/ERP (experience with Z Order or similar systems is a plus).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to coordinate smoothly between store team and factory floor.
High attention to detail, time-management agility, and strong problem-solving skills under tight deadlines.
