Job Summary

We are seeking a qualified and experienced orthopedic specialist for the position of Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedics. The selected candidate will be responsible for medical teaching, orthopedic clinical services, surgical supervision, research, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct undergraduate and postgraduate lectures, practical sessions, clinical demonstrations, and bedside teaching.

- Diagnose and manage orthopedic conditions, fractures, musculoskeletal injuries, joint disorders, and related clinical conditions.

- Perform and supervise orthopedic procedures and surgeries according to expertise, institutional privileges, and applicable protocols.

- Supervise outpatient and inpatient services, emergency cases, preoperative assessments, and postoperative care.

- Guide medical students, postgraduate residents, and junior faculty in clinical practice and academic activities.

- Participate in seminars, case discussions, journal clubs, research projects, and scientific publications.

- Contribute to student assessments, curriculum delivery, and departmental academic planning.

- Maintain accurate clinical records and departmental documentation.

- Ensure adherence to patient safety, infection-control practices, medical ethics, and institutional policies.

- Coordinate with other clinical departments and rehabilitation teams for comprehensive patient care.

Eligibility & Qualifications

- MS/DNB in Orthopedics from a recognized institution, or an equivalent qualification recognized under applicable NMC regulations.

- Valid registration with the National Medical Commission (NMC)



or the concerned State Medical Council, as applicable.

- Minimum 4 years of experience as Assistant Professor in Orthopedics at a recognized medical institution, subject to applicable NMC eligibility provisions.

- Minimum 2 research publications after appointment as Assistant Professor, meeting applicable NMC requirements, including authorship criteria.

- Completion of the Basic Course in Biomedical Research (BCBR), as applicable.

- Candidates must fulfill all applicable NMC, University, and Institutional eligibility criteria for the position of Associate Professor.

Relevant Experience

- Undergraduate and postgraduate medical teaching.

- Orthopedic diagnosis, treatment, and patient management.

- Fracture management, musculoskeletal trauma, and orthopedic surgical procedures.

- Supervision of residents, junior faculty, and clinical academic activities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Strong clinical, diagnostic, and surgical skills in Orthopedics.

- Strong interest in teaching, academics, and clinical training.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills.

- Research-oriented approach with a commitment to academic development.

- Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary hospital setting.

- Experience in fracture management, orthopedic surgeries, joint disorders, and musculoskeletal trauma will be an advantage.
