Job Summary

Baretos International Private Limited is looking for a skilled and responsible Assistant Machine Technician to support the maintenance, troubleshooting, servicing and smooth operation of machinery across our two food manufacturing units.

The selected candidate will handle equipment used in ice cream, kulfi and popsicle manufacturing, as well as machinery used for flavoured banana chips, potato chips, cheese balls and corn puff production.

This role requires a hands-on technician who can identify mechanical issues, perform preventive maintenance, minimise machine downtime and coordinate with production teams to ensure safe and efficient manufacturing operations across both units.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the installation, operation, maintenance and repair of production machinery across both manufacturing units.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of machines, motors, pumps, gearboxes, bearings, belts, chains and other mechanical components.
- Troubleshoot mechanical faults and assist in identifying electrical or control-system issues within the candidate's competence.
- Support maintenance of ice cream, kulfi and popsicle manufacturing and processing equipment.
- Assist in maintaining snack production machinery used for banana chips, potato chips, cheese balls and corn puffs.
- Identify unusual machine noises, vibrations, overheating, leakage, and other signs of malfunction.




- Respond promptly to machine breakdowns and support quick restoration of production.
- Maintain machine maintenance records, breakdown reports, service logs and spare-parts records.
- Coordinate with production operators and supervisors to schedule maintenance with minimum disruption to production.
- Ensure machines are cleaned and maintained according to applicable food manufacturing hygiene and safety requirements.
- Follow lockout, isolation and other applicable safety procedures before maintenance work.
- Assist in sourcing and maintaining essential spare parts, tools, lubricants and maintenance consumables.
- Report major breakdowns and recurring technical issues to the senior technician or management.
- Travel between the two manufacturing units as required to attend maintenance and technical needs.

Eligibility Criteria
- ITI / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related technical field preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in machine maintenance, preferably in a food processing or manufacturing setting.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, motors, bearings, belts, gearboxes, pumps and industrial machinery.
- Ability to identify machine faults and carry out basic repairs and preventive maintenance.




- Knowledge of food processing or packaging machinery will be an added advantage.
- Basic understanding of electrical systems and industrial safety procedures.
- Willingness to work across both manufacturing units and support production requirements when needed.
- Good problem-solving skills, discipline, reliability, and a safety-conscious approach.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with food manufacturing or food processing machinery.
- Familiarity with preventive maintenance schedules and breakdown troubleshooting.
- Ability to maintain maintenance records and communicate technical issues clearly.
- Ability to work independently on routine maintenance tasks and coordinate with production teams.
- Willingness to learn and handle different types of manufacturing equipment.
