Position Overview

Columbia Machine, Inc. is looking for a motivated and hands-on AI Developer / AI Engineer to support the development and implementation of AI-powered solutions and intelligent agents across different operational functions of the organization.

The primary responsibility of this role will be to understand business and operational requirements, coordinate with process owners, develop AI agents and automation solutions, and implement them into real business processes.

The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on programming skills, a good understanding of Generative AI, LLMs, AI Agents and automation, and the ability to work closely with business teams.

This is not a purely research-oriented AI role. We are looking for someone who can take an operational problem and convert it into a working, usable and measurable AI solution.

The candidate will work closely with the AI/technology leadership and operational teams across Columbia Machine, Inc. to identify opportunities where AI can improve productivity, quality, turnaround time, accuracy and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business & Process Coordination

· Work with different departments and operational teams to understand their existing processes and challenges. · Meet with process owners and users to identify repetitive, manual, time-consuming, or error-prone activities that can benefit from AI.

· Document business requirements, process flows, use cases and expected outcomes.

· Coordinate with stakeholders throughout the development and implementation lifecycle.

· Convert business requirements into clear technical requirements and development tasks.

· Conduct demonstrations with users and collect feedback for improvements.

· Maintain proper documentation of AI solutions and their business processes.

1. AI Agent Development

· Design and develop AI agents to perform operational tasks. · Develop solutions using Generative AI, LLMs, RAG, prompt engineering, APIs and AI workflows.

· Build AI agents capable of activities such as:

o Information retrieval o Document analysis o Data extraction o Data validation o Report generation o Email / communication assistance o Process decision support o Workflow execution o Knowledge-base queries o Data summarization o Repetitive operational tasks

· Integrate AI agents with existing applications, databases, APIs and business tools.

· Develop reusable components that can be used across multiple AI solutions.





· Build Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and convert successful PoCs into production-ready solutions.

1. AI Solution Implementation

· Deploy AI solutions into the appropriate business environment. · Work with IT and business teams for implementation and integration.

· Perform functional testing, user acceptance testing and issue resolution.

· Monitor deployed AI solutions and resolve issues.

· Collect user feedback and continuously improve AI agents.

· Track usage, performance, accuracy and business benefits of implemented solutions.

· Prepare implementation and user documentation.

1. AI & Automation Opportunity Identification

· Proactively identify opportunities for AI and automation within operational processes. · Evaluate whether a process should be addressed through:

o Generative AI o AI Agents o Traditional automation o Process improvement o A combination of technologies

· Help estimate potential benefits such as:

o Hours saved o Productivity improvement o Reduction in manual effort o Reduction in errors o Faster turnaround time o Cost savings

· Maintain a pipeline/tracker of AI opportunities and their implementation status.

1. Collaboration & Coordination

· Coordinate with business users, process owners, IT, developers and other technology teams. · Participate in requirement-gathering meetings, solution discussions and project reviews.

· Provide regular status updates on AI initiatives.

· Coordinate multiple small AI initiatives simultaneously.

· Escalate technical or implementation challenges to the appropriate technical lead.

· Support change management and user adoption of AI solutions.

· OpenAI APIs

· Microsoft Copilot / Copilot Studio

· AWS AI services

· Semantic Kernel

Candidates do not need experience with all of these technologies. Robust fundamentals and the ability to learn new AI platforms quickly are more important.

Enterprise Integration Skills The candidate should have experience or understanding of:

· REST API integration

· Database integration

· Enterprise application integration

· Authentication and authorization

· File/document processing

· Microsoft 365 ecosystem

· SharePoint or similar document repositories

· Workflow automation

Experience with tools such as Power Automate, UiPath or other RPA platforms will be an advantage.

Education & Experience

Education

Bachelor's degree in

· Computer Science

· Data Science or a related technical field.

Experience

2–5 years of software development / AI development experience.

Candidates with strong hands-on AI project experience may be considered even if they have less overall experience.

Exposure to project management fundamentals (e.g., PMI, Agile, or similar methodologies).
