Role Summary The accountant owns Starling Aviation Academy's day-to-day accounting, keeping books accurate, payments on time and the academy compliant with GST, TDS and other statutory requirements.

As the academy's first finance hire, the role also helps set up the accounting processes, controls and records a growing multi-site flight training organization need, and gives management reliable numbers for decisions.

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain day-to-day books of accounts in the accounting system (Tally Prime or equivalent): entries, ledgers, cash and bank books across all sites.
- Perform bank, cash and vendor reconciliations; manage petty cash at each site.
- Verify vouchers, bills and supporting documents before booking; maintain an organised filing system (physical and digital).




- Raise cadet fee invoices, track collections and follow up on overdues; process refunds as per policy.
- Process vendor bills (fuel, aircraft maintenance, leases, insurance, admin) and prepare payments for approval.
- Handle GST and TDS compliance: computation, deposits, reconciliations and returns (GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, TDS returns).
- Support HR with payroll accounting and timely PF, ESI and PT deposits.
- Maintain the fixed asset register for aircraft, simulators and equipment; compute depreciation.
- Close books monthly and prepare MIS: P&L;, cash flow, receivables and payables ageing.
- Prepare schedules and support statutory, tax and internal audits.
- Help set up accounting SOPs and internal controls for a growing organisation.

Requirements

- B.Com / M.Com with 3–6 years of hands-on, end-to-end accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of Tally Prime and MS Excel.
- Practical knowledge of GST, TDS and PF/ESI compliance.
- Accurate, organised and able to work independently in a start-up setting.

Preferred: CA Inter / CMA Inter or MBA (Finance); experience in aviation, education or a multi-location business. Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹650,000.00 per year
