A Nursery Assistant provides essential care and support for young children (usually aged 0-5) in a nursery setting. Key responsibilities include ensuring child safety, supporting learning through play, maintaining hygiene (diapering/feeding), managing daily routines, and communicating with parents and staff. It requires patience, enthusiasm, and often a Level 2 childcare qualification. Key Responsibilities & Duties: Child Care & Supervision: Constantly monitoring children’s safety, assisting with toilet training/diaper changes, feeding, and managing nap times. Educational Support: Assisting teachers in planning and implementing age-appropriate, engaging, and educational activities (arts, crafts, music, play) to promote development. Safety & Hygiene: Maintaining a clean and safe environment by cleaning toys, equipment,



and play areas, and following health and safety policies. Observation & Recording: Monitoring children’s behavior, development, and progress, and reporting any concerns or milestones to senior staff and parents. Communication: Building positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues, including greeting parents and providing updates on their child's day.
