Role description : Infrastructure & Systems Administration

- Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise-grade on-premises infrastructure, including physical and virtual server environments.
- Administer and optimize virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi and Microsoft Hyper-V, including clustering, HA, vMotion/live migration, and resource optimization.
- Monitor infrastructure health, system performance, storage utilization, and capacity planning to ensure high availability and operational efficiency.
- Manage server lifecycle activities including provisioning, patching, upgrades, firmware updates, and decommissioning.

Azure Cloud & Microsoft 365 Administration

- Design, implement, and manage Microsoft Azure infrastructure services including Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, Networking, Backup, and Disaster Recovery solutions.
- Support Azure-based workloads, cloud migrations, Azure Backup, and Azure Site Recovery (ASR).
- Manage hybrid identity solutions integrating on-premises Active Directory with Microsoft Entra ID using Azure AD Connect.
- Support and maintain Microsoft 365 services including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint Online, OneDrive, and licensing administration.
- Monitor Microsoft 365 service health, security posture, usage analytics, and license consumption, providing regular operational reporting and recommendations.
- Administer Microsoft Exchange environments (on-premises, hybrid, and Exchange Online), including mailbox management, connectors, transport rules, and mail flow troubleshooting.

Automation & Continuous Improvement

- Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Azure CLI, and/or Terraform to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Contribute to Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)



initiatives and CI/CD pipeline integrations where applicable.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, architecture diagrams, runbooks, and knowledge base articles.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions to improve infrastructure reliability, scalability, performance, and security.

Collaboration & Operational Support

- Act as a Tier 3 escalation point for infrastructure-related incidents, service requests, and problem management activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to support critical production systems outside business hours.
- Work closely with Infrastructure, Security, Application, DevOps, and Vendor teams to deliver integrated enterprise solutions.
- Support audit, compliance, and security initiatives by ensuring infrastructure adheres to organizational standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on qualified experience.

Experience

- 5+ years of hands-on experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure Administration, or related enterprise IT roles.
- Proven experience supporting hybrid infrastructure environments spanning on-premises data centers and cloud platforms.
- Strong experience with enterprise virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V.




- Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure infrastructure services and hybrid connectivity solutions.
- Experience managing enterprise messaging and collaboration platforms in Microsoft 365 environments.

Technical Skills Infrastructure & Virtualization

- VMware vSphere (ESXi, vCenter, vSAN), Microsoft Hyper-V, clustering technologies.
- Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022/2025).
- Linux administration experience (RHEL/Ubuntu preferred).
- Enterprise SAN/NAS storage administration, replication, snapshots, and backup technologies.

Cloud & Identity

- Microsoft Azure IaaS, Azure Networking, Azure Monitor, Azure Backup, Azure Site Recovery.
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Azure AD Connect, Hybrid Identity Management.
- Microsoft 365 administration including Exchange Online, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint Online.

Networking & Security

- TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing/switching fundamentals, and firewall concepts.
- Familiarity with enterprise security and compliance standards.

Automation & Tools

- PowerShell scripting and automation.
- Azure CLI and/or Terraform.
- Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as SCOM, SolarWinds, Datadog, or Azure Monitor.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience administering Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/2019) in hybrid environments.

- Knowledge of backup and disaster recovery solutions such as Veeam, Zerto, or Azure Site Recovery.

- Familiarity with ITIL processes and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.

- Experience supporting Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) and automation initiatives.

- Relevant certifications such as:

- Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104)

- VMware Certified Professional (VCP)

- CompTIA Server+

- Microsoft 365 Certifications
