We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems at ZOOP.The ideal candidate will have strong software engineering fundamentals, expertise in backend development, and the ability to contribute to system design and technical decision-making.Key Responsibilities :- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, reliable, and effective backend services.- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions.- Design and optimise databases, data models, and queries to support performance and scalability.- Develop and maintain APIs, ensuring consistency, security, versioning, and integration reliability.- Implement appropriate security measures, authentication, authorisation, and data protection practices.- Participate in system design discussions, code reviews, and architectural improvements.- Identify and resolve complex technical issues, troubleshoot production problems,



and optimise system performance.- Develop automated unit and integration tests and follow engineering best practices.- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to improving code quality, maintainability, and development standards.Requirements :- 5 - 8 years of professional software development experience, with strong expertise in backend engineering.- Proficiency in Java or Python, with experience in frameworks such as Spring Boot or Django.- Strong understanding of RESTful API design, microservices, and backend system architecture.- Hands-on experience with relational databases such as PostgreSQL or MySQL, including data modelling and query optimisation.- Understanding of application security, authentication, authorisation, and secure coding practices.- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit or Pytest.- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.- Experience with Git, code reviews, and collaborative software development practices.- Ability to take ownership of technical deliverables and work effectively with cross-functional teams.
