Head of Engineering & Application Delivery – General Insurance Location: Technology | Level: Senior Leadership
Lead engineering and application delivery across Digit's General Insurance technology portfolio, translating business priorities into scalable, resilient and high-quality solutions. This hands-on leadership role owns architecture, engineering standards, program execution, release governance and delivery excellence, while partnering with Product, Business, Infrastructure, Security and Executive Leadership.

Own end-to-end engineering and application delivery—from architecture and design through build, release and production—for strategic business programs.

- review designs and resolve critical production, performance and scalability issues.
- Build configuration-driven, reusable platforms that accelerate launches for products, partners and regulatory changes.
- Drive predictable delivery through portfolio planning, milestone tracking, risk management, escalation and senior stakeholder communication.
- Embed engineering excellence through CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, observability, SRE and measurable DORA outcomes.




- Coordinate dependencies across Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Security and Business; Ensure compliance with data security, IRDAI norms and internal controls. • Build and mentor high-performing engineering, delivery and program teams with clear accountability, lean structures and cost discipline.

Experience & Capabilities

- 15–18 years in software engineering or technology delivery, including senior leadership roles and a strong hands-on engineering foundation.
- General Insurance domain experience and proven leadership of large-scale transformation programs.
- Experience leading cross-functional engineering and delivery organizations of 100+ employees.
- Solid depth in distributed systems, microservices, APIs and integrations, databases, AWS/Azure, DevOps and performance engineering.
- Expertise in Agile delivery, portfolio and release governance, risk management and vendor governance.
- AI, machine learning or automation solutions such as document processing or fraud detection.
