About Data Analyst –Financial Planning & Data Analytics:
Gartner is seeking a dynamic Data Analyst to join our Finance FP&A; team, supporting the Conferences Business Unit. This pivotal role partners with Finance and BU stakeholders to understand requirements, build solutions and advanced data analytics. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for leveraging data to drive business performance and innovation.
Collaborate with Finance and Conferences leadership to develop and optimize financial analytics for sales teams, supporting profitable growth and revenue enhancement.
Partner with Finance and Business Unit partners to solve/analyse complex business problems.
Drive automation of reporting processes using advanced tools such as Power BI, SQL, and Python to deliver timely, accurate KPI dashboards.
Identify opportunities to streamline data/internal financial processes, automate data extraction and develop new metrics.
Provide ad hoc modelling and analytical insights to the business and help in strategic and operational initiatives.
Work with stakeholders to understand business needs and convert them into data analysis projects, while proactively proposing innovative, data-driven solutions.
Engage in cross-team collaboration and address ad hoc/ analytical requests from multiple business units, and with individuals with varying levels of analytical experience.
Ensure rigorous, timely, and accurate financial reporting infrastructure and analytics for executive leadership and their teams.
Independently evaluate and enhance existing financial models and frameworks, recommending improvements to drive efficiency and accuracy.
3-4 in core analytics, with bachelor's in computer science, Engineering, Analytics, Economics, or Statistics, Finance. Master's degree preferred.

- Experience creating Power BI – Dax, power query, advanced data modelling, query folding, Databricks etc.
- Strong command of SQL for data extraction, transformation, and analysis; Python experience is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize large financial and operational datasets, identifying key linkages and business drivers.
- Expertise in Microsoft Office suite – Excel, Power Point, Think Cell, Outlook, etc.
- Proven business partnering skills,



with experience collaborating across finance and business units.
- Build reports, dashboards, and analyses that help drive performance and operational improvements.
- Exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills, delivering high-quality solutions under tight deadlines.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and deliver high-quality, accurate analysis, and communicate effectively with the ability to influence finance partners
- Demonstrates curiosity and openness to work across multiple Finance data domains and business processes.
- Strong organizational skills, adept at managing multiple projects and integrating data from diverse sources.
