About the Role

We’re looking for a communicative, hands-on Cloud & AI Engineer who can translate client challenges into secure cloud and AI solutions. You’ll lead technical discovery, assess cloud and AI environments, build demonstrations and proofs of concept, and help clients understand the design choices behind each recommendation.

This is a client-facing role for an engineer who can work directly with technical teams and explain complex ideas clearly to business and executive stakeholders. You’ll collaborate with Atomic Zero’s advisory and delivery teams to design solutions that are scalable, secure, and aligned with each client’s needs.

What You’ll Do

- Lead client discovery: Facilitate technical workshops and discovery calls, gather requirements, and connect business goals to cloud, security, data, and AI needs.
- Assess cloud security and readiness: Review cloud architecture, identity and access, network controls, data flows, logging, workloads, and AI readiness. Identify risks and recommend practical improvements.
- Design secure solutions: Develop architectures and implementation guidance for AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, applying cloud security, identity, least privilege, encryption, segmentation, and governance principles.
- Build demos and proofs of concept: Create tailored demonstrations and PoCs using cloud-native services, generative AI, large language models, AI agents, and data platforms.
- Secure AI deployments:



Help clients address AI data exposure, access controls, prompt and model risks, agent permissions, logging, monitoring, and governance throughout the AI lifecycle.
- Present recommendations: Turn technical findings into clear roadmaps, architecture diagrams, and presentations for engineering teams, security leaders, and executives.
- Support delivery teams: Work with Atomic Zero colleagues and client teams to validate designs, guide implementation, and help ensure solutions meet agreed security and operational requirements.
- Stay current: Track relevant developments in cloud platforms, AI services, cybersecurity, and secure engineering practices, and share useful insights with clients and colleagues.

Required Qualifications

- 2–3 years of hands-on experience in cloud engineering, cloud security, data engineering, AI/ML engineering, or a related field.
- Experience working directly with clients or stakeholders, including gathering requirements and presenting technical recommendations.
- Practical experience with at least one major cloud platform: AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Understanding of cloud infrastructure and services, including networking, identity and access management, compute, storage, monitoring, and security controls.
- Familiarity with containers and up-to-date deployment practices, such as Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, or infrastructure as code.
- Working knowledge of AI/ML or generative AI concepts, including LLM applications, model services, data pipelines, or AI agents.
- Fluency in English, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to audiences with different levels of technical depth.
- Availability to work U.S. business hours and coordinate with clients across all time zones.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities,



and collaborate across client and delivery teams.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, Microsoft Foundry/Azure AI, or comparable AI platforms.
- Experience with cloud security posture management, threat modeling, vulnerability management, incident response, or security architecture.
- Familiarity with data classification, privacy, data protection, AI governance, or securing non-human and agent identities.
- Experience creating technical demos, architecture diagrams, assessment reports, or executive presentations.
- Relevant cloud, security, data, or AI certifications.

Cloud Certification Requirement

Candidates must hold at least one or more current certification from a cloud ecosystem at the time of hire.

Relevant certifications include:

- Google Cloud: Professional Machine Learning Engineer, Professional Data Engineer, or Professional Cloud Architect.
- AWS: AWS Certified Machine Learning Engineer – Associate, AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate, or AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional.
- Microsoft Azure: Azure AI Apps and Agents Developer Associate, Machine Learning Operations Engineer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
