Roles & Responsibilities

- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain IBM z/OS mainframe applications using COBOL, CICS, JCL, and VSAM.
- Develop and maintain CICS online transaction-processing applications, including screens, transactions, programs, and maps.
- Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into technical specifications and program designs.
- Develop, modify, and debug COBOL programs for both online CICS and batch processing.
- Create and maintain JCL for application execution, file processing, job scheduling, and production support.
- Develop and maintain VSAM datasets including KSDS, ESDS, and RRDS, and handle associated file-processing requirements.
- Coordinate with business analysts, QA teams, architects, production support, and offshore/onshore development teams.
- Participate in application migration, modernization, enhancement, and release activities.
- Prepare technical documentation, test plans, deployment documentation, and operational procedures.

Must-Have Skills

- Strong hands-on experience in COBOL, CICS,



JCL, and VSAM.
- Positive knowledge of IBM z/OS mainframe environment and mainframe application development.
- Experience in developing and maintaining CICS online transactions and COBOL batch programs.
- Good understanding of JCL, job scheduling, dataset handling, GDG, and mainframe utilities.
- Hands-on experience with VSAM KSDS, ESDS, RRDS and file processing.
- Experience with CICS BMS, COMMAREA, transaction processing, and CICS file handling.
- Good knowledge of DB2 and embedded SQL in COBOL.
- Strong skills in debugging, production support, abend analysis, and issue resolution.
- Experience with tools such as SDSF, ISPF, Abend-AID, File-AID, and IDCAMS.
- Good understanding of SDLC, testing, code review, deployment, and production support processes.
