About the Role

Neo Sun Industries Ltd is looking for a Purchase / Procurement Manager with hands-on experience in manufacturing and packaging materials to manage day-to-day procurement, material planning and inventory coordination for our metal and plastic packaging operations.

The role will be responsible for ensuring that the right raw materials and consumables are available in the right quantity, at the right time and at the right cost, while maintaining accurate visibility of stock, consumption, open orders and material requirements.

The ideal candidate should have practical knowledge of tinplate/steel, polymers and plastic packaging materials, along with strong Excel/Tally skills and the ability to work closely with production, planning, quality and commercial teams.

Important: This is a hands-on operational procurement role. Candidates should have actual experience working with manufacturing raw materials and inventory, rather than only general purchase administration or PO processing.

Key Responsibilities

1. Material Planning & Procurement

- Monitor raw material and consumable requirements based on production plans, consumption patterns and available stock.
- Prepare and release purchase orders in line with material requirements and established procurement processes.
- Track open POs, expected deliveries and pending material.
- Ensure timely availability of critical materials and flag potential shortages well in advance.
- Maintain visibility of raw material, consumable and finished goods stock.

2. Inventory & Stock Control

- Maintain accurate daily/weekly visibility of stock in hand, consumption, open orders and projected requirements.
- Monitor consumption trends and identify unusual increases or decreases.
- Track minimum/optimum stock levels for key materials.
- Identify slow-moving, excess and ageing inventory.
- Coordinate with production and commercial teams to align procurement with actual requirements.




- Ensure inventory records in Tally/ERP and Excel are accurate and up to date.

3. Vendor & Purchase Management

- Coordinate with existing suppliers for quotations, purchase orders, delivery schedules and documentation.
- Maintain supplier-wise purchase records and pricing history.
- Compare supplier pricing and commercial terms and highlight significant changes.
- Track supplier delivery performance and escalate delays or quality-related issues.
- Support development of alternate suppliers where required.

4. Raw Material Knowledge & Technical Coordination

The candidate should have practical familiarity with materials used in metal and plastic packaging, including:

- Tinplate / steel
- HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE, PP and other commonly used polymers
- Injection-moulded plastic components
- Blow-moulding raw materials
- Packaging-related consumables and sundry raw materials

The candidate should be able to understand basic material specifications and communicate effectively with production and quality teams regarding material suitability, consumption and issues.

Knowledge of parameters such as thickness, coating, GSM, MFI and material grade/specification will be important.

5. Cost & Purchase Analysis

- Maintain historical purchase-price records for key materials.
- Track changes in commodity/material prices and supplier quotations.
- Identify unusual price movements and highlight opportunities for cost optimisation.
- Compare landed purchase costs where relevant, including freight and other applicable charges.
- Support negotiations with suppliers with accurate historical pricing and consumption data.

6. MIS, Excel & Documentation





- Prepare regular MIS covering:
- Raw material stock
- Consumption
- Open POs
- Pending deliveries
- Purchase prices
- Supplier performance
- Material requirements
- Finished goods stock

- Maintain accurate purchase records, vendor databases and supporting documentation.
- Work extensively with Excel and Tally/ERP for procurement and inventory tracking.

Key Requirements

- 4–8 years of hands-on purchase/procurement experience in manufacturing, preferably packaging.
- Relevant experience with metal and/or plastic packaging materials is mandatory.
- Practical understanding of tinplate/steel and polymers, particularly HDPE, LDPE, LLDPE and PP.
- Understanding of basic injection moulding and blow moulding material requirements.
- Strong inventory tracking and material-planning capabilities.
- Solid Excel skills, including the ability to analyse and reconcile procurement and inventory data.
- Working knowledge of Tally/ERP systems.
- Strong numerical and analytical ability.
- Ability to identify discrepancies, follow up proactively and maintain accurate records.
- Strong coordination skills with production, quality, suppliers and commercial teams.
- High ownership and attention to detail.

Candidates whose experience is primarily in purchase administration, PO processing or generic vendor coordination, without hands-on exposure to manufacturing raw materials, will not be considered.

- Production does not face avoidable material shortages.
- Accurate visibility of stock, consumption, open POs and upcoming requirements is available at all times.
- Purchase orders are raised on time and followed through to receipt.
- Inventory is maintained at appropriate levels without unnecessary excess.
- Purchase-price movements and supplier issues are identified early.
- Procurement and inventory MIS is accurate, useful and decision-oriented.
- Production, quality and commercial teams have confidence in the information provided by procurement.
