WHO WE ARE

We are seeking a highly motivated Java L2 Production Support Engineer to support and maintain business-critical applications in a fast-paced production environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in incident management, hands-on Core Java development, Unix/Linux environments, SQL troubleshooting, and AWS cloud technologies.

This role requires an individual who can quickly diagnose and resolve production issues, perform root cause analysis, and collaborate effectively with development, infrastructure, and business teams to ensure application stability and reliability.

BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW

The Production Support team is responsible for maintaining the availability, performance, and reliability of enterprise applications. The team serves as the highest level of support for critical production incidents and works closely with engineering teams to improve system stability, reduce operational risk, and automate support processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Provide L2 support for mission-critical Java applications in production environments.
- Lead incident management activities and drive timely resolution of production issues.
- Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
- Analyze application logs and troubleshoot complex production problems.
- Debug and troubleshoot Core Java code to identify and resolve application defects.
- Execute Unix/Linux commands for application monitoring, log analysis, and troubleshooting.




- Perform database analysis and write SQL queries for issue investigation and data validation.
- Support deployment activities and production releases.
- Monitor applications and infrastructure using AWS monitoring tools.
- Work closely with development, infrastructure, and business teams during incident resolution.
- Create and maintain support documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in on-call support and major incident management processes.
- Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Mandatory Skills

- 4+ years of experience in Application Production Support.
- Strong understanding of Incident Management, Problem Management, and RCA processes.
- Hands-on programming experience in Core Java 8.
- Ability to analyze and debug Java applications at code level.
- Strong hands-on experience with SQL queries and database troubleshooting.
- Positive knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems and shell commands.
- Experience troubleshooting enterprise-scale production applications.
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
- AWS certification is a plus.
- ITIL certification is an advantage
