Job Summary

The Estimation & Proposal Engineer is responsible for reviewing customer RFQs, preparing cost estimates, developing technical and commercial proposals, and coordinating with internal teams and suppliers to ensure timely and competitive bid submissions.

Key Responsibilities

- Review RFQs, specifications, drawings, and scope of work.
- Analyze BOMs, material requirements, and fabrication processes.
- Prepare accurate cost estimates covering materials, labor, manufacturing, subcontracting, and logistics.
- Obtain and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
- Prepare technical and commercial proposals, including scope, assumptions, exclusions, and pricing.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Procurement, Production, Quality, and Sales teams for bid preparation.
- Support customer clarifications and post-bid discussions.
- Maintain costing databases, proposal records, and historical project data.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization and process improvement.

Qualifications





- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 25 years of experience in Estimation, Costing, Tendering, or Proposal Engineering.
- Experience in Fabrication, Heavy Engineering, Manufacturing, or Oil & Gas industry preferred.

Required Skills

- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
- Knowledge of fabrication, welding, machining, and manufacturing processes.
- Understanding of material, labor, and project costing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.
- Valuable communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple RFQs and meet deadlines.

- Effective coordination with internal teams and suppliers.

Preferred Experience

- Estimation of fabricated equipment, structural steel, piping systems, pressure vessels, or industrial skids.
- Exposure to international projects and export-oriented manufacturing.
