Skill: Python Automation with L2/L3 protocol

Detailed JD:

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and maintain Python-based automation scripts/frameworksfor network protocol testing.

· Design test plans, test cases and automate functional and regression scenarios using Python.

· Perform L2/L3 protocol feature validation, system testing and regression testing.

· Configure network devices and testbeds and validate protocol behaviour, convergence and traffic forwarding.

· Analyse failures using logs and packet captures and support defect triage/root-cause analysis.

· Work closely with development and validation teams to reproduce and troubleshoot networking defects.

Mandatory Skills

1. Solid Python Automation experience,



including writing automation scripts/test cases.

2. Strong understanding and hands-on testing experience in L2/L3 networking protocols.

3. Layer 2: VLAN, STP, LACP, ARP, DHCP.

4. Layer 3: OSPF, BGP, MPLS, TCP/IP and routing concepts.

5. Experience in functional, feature and regression testing of networking products.

6. Experience creating test plans/test cases and automating them using Python.

7. Basic to hands-on exposure to IXIA, Spirent Test Center or equivalent traffic generators.

8. Good debugging and packet-analysis skills using tools such as Wireshark/tcpdump.
