Meet Flent ??
Renting in India can be a nightmare.
Think about it: visiting countless houses, arguing over rent, losing money to brokers, sticking to 11-month contracts, and spending lakhs of rupees into furnishing. It's a lot, and honestly, we deserve better.
This is where Flent comes in. We're creating a new standard of urban renting for India.
Imagine walking into a home that feels like it’s straight out of a lifestyle magazine - fully furnished, beautifully staged, all you need to bring is your clothes and your vibe. No need to persuade landlords, no dealing with brokers, and no 11-month lock-ins. It’s not just a vision; it’s what we believe the top 1% in India truly deserves.
We started Flent because we were fed up. Trying to find a decent place in the city was a nightmare. But beyond the frustration was a deep-seated passion for home decor and an eye for detail that we couldn't ignore. Numbers revealed that ~$10 Bn is spent annually on urban renting — and that was the tipping point. It convinced us of the potential to craft the future of renting, designed for those who demand more and compromise less.
Flent is backed by top-tier VCs and angels. Since our inception in Jan’24, we’ve launched 250+ homes in Bangalore, went viral on X more than we imagined, and crossed $1,000,000 in annual GMV.
Meet Your Team ???
Hi, I’m Purva, I lead the Design Ops vertical at Flent. Being one of the early team members, my focus has evolved from designing and setting up homes to building the systems, processes and capabilities that allow this vertical to scale.
I still work closely with home design and setups, but a large part of my role today is thinking beyond individual homes - identifying what we’ll need at 200, 500 or 1000 homes, building the processes and infrastructure to get us there, and solving problems before they become bottlenecks.
That means a lot of foresight, planning and cross-functional projects - figuring out how we can scale our design, procurement, setup and property operations without compromising the quality and experience that makes a Flent home a Flent home.
And that's the kind of environment you'll be joining: one where we're not just operating a growing portfolio, but continuously building the systems to make that growth possible.
About The Role
As a Product Ops Associate (Design) at Flent, you’ll work at the intersection of design and execution - turning creative intent into homes that are functional, thoughtfully designed and ready for renters to move into.
You’ll own the design and setup of Flent homes, from developing design concepts and mood boards to coordinating vendors, driving on-ground execution and ensuring every home meets our quality standards.
This is a hands-on, execution-heavy role. You’ll spend time designing homes, working with vendors, solving problems on-ground and making sure the final output lives up to the original design intent. You’ll work closely with the Design Ops team and other core team members, with ownership over home setup projects.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys both the creative and operational sides of design - someone who can develop a thoughtful design direction, sweat the details and make things happen on-ground.
What You’ll Broadly Do
Design Flent homes
Develop design concepts and layouts for current homes, translating the property's potential, constraints and target renter's needs into functional, aesthetically cohesive spaces that meet Flent's design standards.
Own on-ground setup execution
Take ownership of bringing designs to life on-site. Coordinate with vendors and internal teams, resolve execution challenges and ensure the final setup is delivered within the planned timelines and to Flent's quality standards.
Drive vendor coordination
Work closely with carpenters, electricians, painters, installers and other vendors to communicate design requirements, coordinate activities, track progress and ensure work is executed as intended.
Collaborate with Procurement and Operations
Translate design plans into clear product, material and execution requirements. Work with the Procurement team on sourcing and availability, and with Operations to ensure homes are handed over smoothly and are ready for renters.
Maintain design quality and consistency
Conduct on-site checks and QC, identify gaps in finish, functionality and detailing, and ensure every home meets Flent's design and usability standards.
Improve How We Design And Execute Homes
Document learnings, identify recurring execution challenges and contribute to design standards, playbooks and workflows that help us deliver better homes as the portfolio.
What Your Day-to-day Will Look Like
No two days will look exactly the same. You could be developing a mood board for a newly acquired property in the morning, reviewing progress with vendors at an active setup in the afternoon, and resolving an on-site execution issue or conducting final QC by evening.
You’ll Typically
- Visit properties to understand their layouts, constraints and design potential.
- Develop design concepts, layouts and moodboards for upcoming home setups and potential acquisitions.
- Translate design intent into clear execution plans, specifications and requirements.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to keep setups moving on schedule.
- Visit active sites, monitor workmanship and troubleshoot on-ground challenges.
- Review completed work, identify defects and ensure they are resolved before handover.
- Coordinate with Procurement on product availability, substitutions and delivery requirements.
- Capture learnings from completed setups and contribute to improving Flent's design standards and execution processes.
We’re Looking For Someone Who
- Has 1–3 years of relevant experience in interior design, home styling, project execution, hospitality, co-living or a related field.
- Has a strong design sensibility. You can put together cohesive spaces, understand proportions and layouts, and balance aesthetics with everyday functionality.
- Takes ownership. You can take a project from an initial design direction to an executed, quality-checked home without losing sight of the details.
- Is strong at execution and project management. You can manage timelines, coordinate multiple stakeholders and keep projects moving despite on-ground challenges.
- Can work with vendors confidently. You’re comfortable communicating requirements, following up on execution and holding vendors accountable for quality and timelines.
- Pay attention to detail. You notice the small things that make a home feel considered - and the gaps that make it feel unfinished.
- Is comfortable working on-ground. You’re willing to travel to properties, spend time at active setup sites and solve problems in real-world conditions.
- Is adaptable and resourceful. You can make sound decisions when plans change, constraints emerge or things don't go as expected.
A formal interior design qualification is helpful, but not essential. We care more about your design judgement, execution ability, ownership and willingness to learn. Compensation, Benefits & Perks The total cash compensation for this role is INR 6 LPA fixed. You’ll be eligible for ESOPs & standard perks beyond the cash component.
The role is based in Indiranagar, Bangalore. We do not operate remotely, you should be based in Bangalore to be eligible for this role.
