Primary position Objective To lead, manage and carry out the shipyard’s blasting, Hydroblasting, and painting workshop and such activities onboard vessels undergoing dry and afloat repairs (and current works) to meet Project, Owners, Classand OEM requirements.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Gather required planning information from relevant departments.
Issue and follow up on inter-department requests.
Evaluate blasting & painting work scope, manpower, materials, and specialist requirements.
Prepare paint area sheets for project and commercial teams.
Prepare material lists and ensure material availability.
Monitor and inspect blasting & painting activities and track progress.
Report issues, delays,
and concerns to Project Managers and Department Heads.
Prepare work reports for invoicing and maintain records.
Perform Supervisor duties when required.
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
Develop skill matrices and identify training needs.
Coordinate and deliver training programs.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES
- Diploma / Degree in relevant fields or
- Significant experiance in relavant field
- All techniques of blasting & painting and hydro blasting.
- Must have knowledge to read and interpret drawings, and prepare MTO/BOM and paint area sheets.
