The RoleWe are hiring a Generalist HR Manager to own the entire people and office function for a 140-member team across 3 branches, working side by side with the founders. This is a full-time role based at our Bangalore office.
You will run HR and Admin end to end, from payroll, compliance and hiring to performance, engagement and exits. You will also shape how the company feels to work in: healthier, more motivated and more connected.
Why this is a rare opportunity
- A profitable startup. We are growing and running profitably, so you build on a stable base, not on burn-rate anxiety.
- Founder access. You work directly with the founders and your decisions shape company culture from day one.
- Full ownership. One person owns the whole HR and Admin charter. You will not be a cog in a large HR department.
- A growing company. With 140 people and 3 branches today, you will build the processes, policies and culture that carry us to the next stage.
About UsWe build tools and systems that help Indian users save and earn money.
Our family of products includes:
- PaisaWapas: a cashback and rewards platform where users earn cashback on online shopping.
- ExtraPe: a social deal-sharing platform where users earn by sharing eCommerce and fintech deals with friends and family.
- Haulpack: a creator monetization platform where creators get paid to drive sales, supported by tools such as Auto DM on Instagram.
- CardGrid: an AI-powered credit card recommendation and discovery platform.
- LoanGrid: a loan marketplace where users discover, compare and apply for personal, home and business loans.
Today we are about 140 people across 3 branches, and the business is profitable. Key Responsibilities1. HR operations, payroll and leave
- Own monthly payroll end to end: attendance and leave inputs, salary processing, payslips, reimbursements and full-and-final settlements.
- Manage leave policy and tracking, and maintain accurate employee records and HRMS data across all branches.
- Handle onboarding, documentation, confirmations and the full employee lifecycle.
2.
Compliance
- Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations, including PF, ESI and other statutory requirements, and coordinate with our external consultancy firm that handles the filings.
- Work with the consultancy firm to make sure returns and challans are filed on time, and stay audit-ready.
- Draft and update HR policies, employment contracts and the employee handbook.
3. Talent acquisition
- Run end-to-end hiring: workforce planning with the founders, sourcing, screening, interviews, offers and joining.
- Build a robust hiring pipeline through job boards, referrals, campuses and agencies.
4. Performance, appraisal and exit
- Set up and run performance management: goals, tracking, periodic reviews and the annual appraisal cycle.
- Manage promotions, increments and role changes with the founders.
- Run exit formalities: resignations, notice period, exit interviews, handover, clearances and final settlement. Share exit insights with leadership.
5. Employee feedback and workplace health
- Collect regular feedback through one-on-ones, surveys and skip-level conversations. Turn it into action.
- Act as the first point of contact for employee concerns and resolve grievances fairly and confidentially.
- Build a healthy, respectful and inclusive work environment.
6. Engagement, culture and growth
- Plan and run team engagement activities, celebrations and events.
- Drive team bonding and cross-functional engagement across teams and branches.
- Launch new initiatives for employee motivation, learning and growth, fitness and wellness, and personality building.
7. Office and administration
- Manage day-to-day office operations across all 3 branches: facilities, seating, housekeeping, pantry, security and maintenance.
- Handle vendors, contracts, purchases, assets, IT and equipment coordination, and office budgets.
- Work closely with the office boys and office coordinators at each branch: guide them, monitor their work, and make sure every branch runs smoothly so teams can focus on their work.
What We Are Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in generalist HR and admin, ideally in a startup or fast-growing company with 100+ employees.
- A graduate or postgraduate degree, preferably an MBA or PGDM in HR.
- Hands-on experience running payroll, including PF, ESI, professional tax and other statutory compliance.
- Working knowledge of Indian labour laws and employment regulations.
- Experience handling hiring, appraisals, performance management and exits end to end.
- Experience managing multi-branch operations and office administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the maturity to handle sensitive matters with confidentiality.
- A proactive, ownership-driven mindset. You are comfortable working with founders, and with both strategy and execution.
- Comfort with HRMS and payroll tools, and good command of Excel or Google Sheets.
- Passion for building culture, engagement and employee wellbeing.
What You Get
- Founder-level exposure. You work directly with the founders on people strategy, not behind layers of management.
- Real ownership. You build and own the HR and Admin function for the whole company.
- A stable, profitable company. You grow with a business that is already earning.
- Room to grow. As we scale, your role can grow with the company.
- Compensation that matches your experience and impact. Open to discussion.
