About the RoleWe are looking for a Founding CTO / Solution Architect / Forward Deployed Engineer who can operate across technology leadership, architecture, product engineering, and client delivery.

This is not a traditional CTO or Solution Architect position.

You will be one of the core technical leaders of Sapiogen AI, working directly with the founders, prospective clients, and engineering teams to transform business problems into scalable AI-powered technology solutions.

The ideal candidate should be equally comfortable:

Talking to a CEO → Designing the architecture → Building a prototype → Deploying it → Leading engineers → Owning technical delivery.

You will have significant ownership in shaping Sapiogen AI's technical standards, engineering culture, architecture frameworks, AI capabilities, and delivery methodology.

Key Responsibilities1.

Technical

Leadership

- Work closely with the Founders to define Sapiogen AI's technology vision and engineering strategy.
- Establish technical standards, architecture principles, coding practices, and engineering processes.
- Make critical technology and architecture decisions.
- Build scalable and reusable engineering capabilities for the company.
- Evaluate emerging AI technologies, frameworks, platforms, and development methodologies.
- Establish an AI-first engineering culture across the organization.
- Mentor and guide engineers, architects, and technical team members.
- Participate in hiring and evaluation of future engineering talent.
- Help build the company's engineering organization as Sapiogen AI scales.

Solution

Architecture
- Understand complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Design end-to-end architectures for AI, SaaS, enterprise, data, cloud, and digital products.
- Create solution architecture documents, technical proposals, system diagrams, and technology roadmaps.
- Define technology stacks, APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, security architecture, and integration patterns.
- Design systems that are scalable, secure, maintainable, and commercially viable.
- Review architecture and technical decisions throughout project lifecycles.
- Identify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Forward Deployed

EngineeringYou will work directly with clients and project teams to solve real-world technical problems.

Responsibilities include

- Join client discovery and technical workshops.
- Understand business processes, pain points, and technical environments.
- Rapidly prototype and validate solutions.
- Build Proofs of Concept (PoCs), MVPs,



and production-ready components.
- Integrate AI models and third-party platforms into existing systems.
- Work with client engineering and product teams.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- Deploy solutions into cloud and production environments.
- Iterate rapidly based on customer feedback.
- Take ownership of technical outcomes rather than simply delivering specifications.

4. AI Engineering
- Design and implement Generative AI and Agentic AI solutions.
- Work with LLMs, RAG architectures, AI agents, embeddings, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Design AI-powered workflows and automation systems.
- Integrate commercial and open-source AI models.
- Build AI copilots, conversational systems, intelligent automation, and enterprise AI applications.
- Evaluate model performance, cost, latency, security, and reliability.
- Implement appropriate guardrails, evaluation frameworks, observability, and monitoring.

5. Cloud & Infrastructure
- Design cloud-native architectures using platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
- Work with containers, APIs, microservices, serverless systems, CI/CD, and infrastructure automation.
- Establish deployment and DevOps practices.
- Design scalable and reliable infrastructure.
- Optimize infrastructure cost and performance.
- Work with security, authentication, networking, monitoring, logging, and observability.

6. Pre-Sales & Client Engagement
- Participate in technical discovery calls with prospective clients.
- Lead technical discussions with CTOs, CIOs, founders, product leaders, and engineering teams.
- Understand client requirements and identify opportunities for AI transformation.
- Support the sales team in developing technically robust proposals.
- Conduct technical presentations, architecture walkthroughs, and solution demonstrations.
- Develop PoCs and technical prototypes during the sales process when required.
- Help convert business requirements into commercially viable technology solutions.

7. Engineering Delivery
- Own technical delivery from discovery through deployment.
- Break complex requirements into actionable engineering tasks.
- Review code and technical implementations.
- Establish engineering quality standards.
- Ensure projects meet agreed technical, performance, security, and scalability requirements.
- Work closely with project managers, designers, engineers, and clients.
- Identify bottlenecks and proactively resolve technical challenges.

Education & ExperienceRequired:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4+ years of relevant software engineering / architecture experience.
- Strong hands-on engineering background.
- Experience designing and delivering production-grade software systems.
- Strong understanding of system architecture and cloud technologies.

Preferred:

- Experience in a startup or high-growth technology company.
- Experience working directly with international clients.
- Consulting or system integration experience.
- Experience in AI/ML or Generative AI.
- Previous Solution Architect, Staff Engineer, Principal Engineer, Tech Lead, CTO, or Forward Deployed Engineer experience.
