About Peppermint
Peppermint is a growing kidswear brand with a presence across 350+ large-format retail stores, independent retailers, our own stores, and online marketplaces. With substantial in-house manufacturing capabilities, we're building a stronger, more scalable, technology-driven consumer business. We're investing heavily in technology, automation, and operational excellence, including our own enterprise platform that will transform how we run the business.
We're a company of builders who value ownership, resourcefulness, speed, and getting things done.
The Opportunity
We're looking for someone who takes ownership naturally, figures things out, and gets things done without needing to be chased.
- You'll be part of the Founder's Office, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the Founder/MD. You'll take end-to-end ownership of important projects and operational initiatives across Peppermint.
- Your work could involve fixing operational bottlenecks, implementing new systems, improving processes, driving cross-functional initiatives, negotiating with vendors, or solving problems that don't neatly belong to any one department.
- You won't be expected to know everything or make every major decision independently. But once something is entrusted to you, we'll expect you to take responsibility for driving it forward, navigating obstacles, and ensuring it gets done.
Think of yourself as an extension of the leadership team, with a bias for execution rather than just planning or coordination.
What You'll Do
- Own projects end-to-end: Take ambiguous business problems, break them into actionable plans, and drive them through to completion.
- Make things happen across teams: Work with Manufacturing, Sales, Retail, Supply Chain, Finance, HR, and Technology to deliver outcomes, even without formal authority over those teams.
- Solve real business problems: Get into the details, identify root causes, remove bottlenecks, and implement practical, lasting solutions.
- Build better processes: Identify inefficiencies, simplify workflows, and help create systems that make the organization more effective.
- Drive new initiatives: Help launch operational capabilities, implement technology, evaluate vendors, and execute special projects.
- Be a trusted execution partner:
Work closely with the CEO and Founder/MD on key initiatives, provide concise daily updates, exercise sound judgment, and escalate important decisions with context and recommendations.
This is a hands-on role. You'll be equally comfortable working on a spreadsheet, visiting a factory floor, coordinating with teams, or negotiating with a vendor.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone who combines strong intellectual ability with exceptional execution and ownership. We're less interested in impressive job titles and more interested in what you've actually accomplished.
Education & Professional Background
- Bachelor's degree with a strong academic record, preferably from a reputed institution. Engineering, management, commerce, economics, and related backgrounds are welcome.
- Typically 5-9 years of professional experience, ideally in high-performance, entrepreneurial, or operationally complex organizations.
- Demonstrated experience of independently owning important projects, solving business problems, and delivering measurable outcomes.
- Strong analytical ability, structured problem-solving, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience working closely with founders, business leaders, or across multiple functions is highly desirable.
- An MBA or other postgraduate qualification from a leading institution is an advantage, but not essential.
- Exposure to consumer brands, retail, manufacturing, startups, or growing businesses is a plus.
We value strong educational and professional backgrounds, but exceptional ability and a proven track record matter more than credentials alone.
Personal Attributes
- Extreme Ownership: You take responsibility for outcomes, not merely assigned tasks. You follow through without reminders.
- Resourcefulness: You figure things out, even when problems are unfamiliar and instructions are incomplete.
- Bias for Action: You move quickly, make progress, and don't get stuck in endless planning.
- Persistence: You navigate obstacles, follow up relentlessly, and don't give up easily.
- Structured Thinking:
You simplify complex problems, prioritize effectively, and make sensible decisions.
- Low Ego: You're willing to roll up your sleeves and work with people at every level.
- Business Judgment: You understand when to act independently and when to seek guidance.
What You Should Know Before Applying
We believe in being upfront about what working here looks like.
- This is an intense, hands-on role: We're in an ambitious phase of building and transforming Peppermint. The next 2-3 years will involve significant operational change, new technology, and a lot of execution. This is not a conventional 9-to-6 role. We're a six-day-a-week, work-from-office organization, and the role requires flexibility and commitment beyond fixed working hours when business priorities demand it. If you're looking for a strictly five-day workweek or highly predictable hours, this probably isn't the right opportunity.
- We're building the environment, not just working in it: We value people who are comfortable with imperfect environments, can create order from ambiguity, and enjoy being part of the transformation. There will be ambiguity, competing priorities, and situations where the answer isn't immediately obvious. You'll need to get involved, speak to people, understand the details, and drive solutions rather than simply recommend them.
Why Join Us?
- A business with enormous potential: Join one of India's leading kidswear brands at an exciting stage of growth, with significant opportunities in D2C expansion (online and offline), boyswear, and a strong foundation of vertically integrated manufacturing.
- Build the next generation of Peppermint: Help transform a complex, established business through technology, automation, better processes, and modern operating systems, including our in-house enterprise platform.
- Real ownership and impact: Take responsibility for meaningful business challenges, drive decisions into action, and see the tangible results of your work across the organization.
- An entrepreneurial setting: Work in a high-agency culture where initiative, resourcefulness, and execution matter more than hierarchy. As you deliver results, your responsibilities and opportunities will grow with the business.
If you're someone who naturally takes charge, enjoys solving difficult problems, and wants to help build something exceptional, we'd love to hear from you.
