Company: Lifeasy Interior

Department: Design & Technical Quality Control

Reporting To: Design & Operations Leadership

Location: Noida

About the RoleLifeasy Interior is looking for an experienced Drawing Quality Control (DQC) professional to bridge the gap between design intent and practical execution.

The role goes beyond checking production drawings. It requires a strong understanding of interior design, materials, manufacturing processes, costing and site execution to help designers translate creative ideas into technically feasible, commercially viable and production-ready solutions.

The DQC Lead will own the quality and timely delivery of production drawings, BOQs, BOMs and cutlists, while managing the 2D drafting team, coordinating with vendors and maintaining an organised repository of production documentation.

An important part of this role is to elevate both design quality and customer experience (CX) by helping the Design Team resolve technical challenges early, minimise avoidable revisions and deliver designs that can be executed as promised.

Key Responsibilities1.

Design

Feasibility &

• Technical Collaboration

- Partner with designers to evaluate the practicality, constructability and commercial feasibility of proposed designs.
- Help translate creative design concepts into workable technical solutions without unnecessarily restricting design intent.
- Identify potential challenges involving materials, hardware, dimensions, joinery, manufacturing and installation, and recommend practical alternatives.
- Encourage early technical consultation to prevent avoidable design changes after customer approval or Design Freeze.
- Balance design aspirations, customer expectations, budget and execution feasibility to improve the overall customer experience.

2.

Production

Documentation &

• Quality

- Own the quality and timely delivery of 2D production drawings, shop drawings, BOQs, BOMs and cutlists.
- Ensure all documents are accurate, complete and aligned with approved 3D designs, site measurements, specifications and material selections.
- Review 3D-to-2D interpretation, dimensions, detailing, quantities and manufacturing requirements before release.
- Ensure documentation is sufficiently clear for production teams and vendors to execute without repeated clarifications.
- Maintain revision control and ensure only the latest approved production files are used.

3.

Production

Planning &

• Vendor Coordination

- Ensure drawings, material specifications, BOMs and cutlists are released in a sequence that supports production planning and project timelines.
- Identify technical dependencies, material availability constraints and pending approvals that could affect production readiness.
- Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to validate pricing, specifications, manufacturing feasibility and material alternatives.
- Work with Design, Estimation, Procurement and Operations to resolve discrepancies before they affect production or site execution.
- Support reliable production planning by ensuring that technical documentation and material requirements are available at the right time.

4.

Design

Quality &

• Continuous Learning

- Identify recurring design and documentation errors and address their root causes.
- Conduct regular, constructive training sessions for designers using actual project examples, common mistakes and recommended technical approaches.
- Build practical design guidelines, detailing standards and checklists that help designers make better decisions independently.
- Encourage collaboration and knowledge-sharing rather than a fault-finding culture.
- Track recurring errors and improvement in design quality, first-time-right documentation and avoidable rework.

5. Team Management & • Documentation Systems

- Manage, guide and prioritise the work of the 2D drafting team to ensure quality and timely delivery.
- Allocate assignments based on project priorities, complexity, resource availability and committed timelines.
- Maintain a well-organised central repository of approved production files, shop drawings, BOQs, BOMs, cutlists, revisions and relevant technical references.
- Establish consistent file-naming conventions, folder structures, version control and retrieval protocols for future projects.
- Develop reusable drawing details,

standard solutions and reference libraries to improve team efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain visibility of pending requests, drawing status, approval dependencies and production-documentation readiness.

Candidate Requirements

- Prior experience in a DQC role within residential interiors, modular furniture or a closely related design-to-production environment is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of interior production drawings, shop drawings, joinery detailing, materials, hardware and manufacturing processes.
- Practical experience in reviewing 3D designs and translating them into accurate, executable 2D documentation.
- Working knowledge of BOQ, BOM, cutlist preparation, estimation and vendor pricing.
- Experience managing a drafting team and coordinating with designers, production teams, vendors and operations.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects systematically.
- Proficiency in relevant CAD and drawing-review tools.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues constructively and propose workable solutions.

Measures of Success

- Accurate and timely delivery of production-ready documentation.
- Improved design feasibility and fewer avoidable revisions after customer approval or Design Freeze.
- Reduction in drawing-related production errors, material wastage and site rework.
- Better coordination between Design, Estimation, Procurement, Vendors and Operations.
- Improved first-time-right quality and predictability of production planning.
- Regular designer training and measurable improvement in recurring error patterns.
- A complete, organised and reliable production-drawing repository for future reference.

What We Expect From This RoleWe are looking for someone who can work alongside designers, understand their intent, identify practical challenges and help develop the right solutions. The ideal candidate combines technical depth with a collaborative mindset, solid organisational discipline and an understanding that good DQC is not just about preventing errors. It is about making good designs executable, improving customer confidence and enabling smoother project delivery.

Interested candidates should share their resume highlighting their prior DQC experience, technical responsibilities, team management experience and exposure to residential interior production.
