Job Description: A CNC Plasma Cutting Operator sets up, runs, and maintains computer-controlled plasma cutting systems to cut metal sheets and plates according to engineering blueprints and production schedules. You can review live job openings and templates on platforms like Key Responsibilities

- Machine Operation & Setup: Load raw metal sheets/plates (Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Alloy Steel) onto the plasma table and align them properly.

- Programming & Nesting: Read and interpret CAD/CAM files, engineering drawings, and G-codes; use nesting software (e.g., ProNest or IGEMS) to minimize material waste.

- Parameter Adjustment: Set and adjust cutting speeds, amperage, gas pressure, and torch height to match plate thickness.

- Quality Control: Inspect finished metal components using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers) to verify dimensions against tolerances.

- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform daily pre-shift inspections, clean torch tips/consumables,



and resolve minor mechanical or software issues.

- Safety & Handling: Operate overhead cranes or forklifts to move heavy steel plates and strictly follow shop-floor safety guidelines.

Required Qualifications & Skills
- Education: ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Production, or Fabrication Engineering (or equivalent high school/GED with practical experience).

- Experience: 2 to 5+ years of hands-on experience operating CNC plasma or laser cutting systems (brands like ESAB, Messer, or Koike).

- Technical Skills:
- Blueprint and technical drawing interpretation
- Basic CNC programming and G-code comprehension
- Familiarity with material properties (MS, SS, aluminum)
- Basic shop math (fractions, decimals, and measurements
