TYPE
Full time
We're hiring an Automation QA Engineer with 4–5 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining automated
test coverage across web UI, mobile apps, and APIs. You'll own automation end to end — from framework design
through CI/CD integration — and work closely with developers and manual QA to decide what gets automated and
how. This is a build-and-own role: you're expected to be equally comfortable scripting a UI flow, driving a mobile app,
and hitting an API directly.
Web UI Automation
Web API Automation
Mobile UI Automation
02 Automation Coverage Expected
Mobile API Automation
This role spans four areas of automation ownership. Candidates should bring demonstrable, hands-on depth in all
four — not exposure to one or two with a passing familiarity with the rest.
Web — UI Automation
End-to-end automation of web application flows and
regression suites using Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or
Cypress.
Mobile App — UI Automation
End-to-end automation of native/hybrid app flows across
Android and iOS using Appium.
03 What You'll Do
Web — API Automation
Automated validation of the REST/web services behind
those flows, using REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or
Karate.
Mobile App — API Automation
Automated validation of the backend APIs and services that
power the mobile app, exercised independently of the UI. – Design, build and maintain automation frameworks spanning web UI, mobile (Android/iOS), and API testing. – Write and execute automated test scripts using tools such as Selenium / Playwright / Cypress for web, Appium
for mobile, and REST Assured / Postman for APIs. – Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar) for continuous
testing on every build.
– Collaborate with developers and manual QA to identify high-value scenarios for automation and prioritize
coverage. – Triage automation failures, distinguish real defects from flaky tests, and keep the suite healthy and trustworthy. – Build reusable, modular test components and manage test data across environments.
– Review automation code from peers and enforce best practices — Page Object Model, data-driven design, and
clean reporting. – Track and report automation coverage, execution results, and quality metrics to engineering and product
stakeholders. – Partner with DevOps to reduce test execution time through parallelization and smarter test selection.
04 Required Skills & Qualifications – 4–5 years of hands-on automation testing experience spanning all four areas above: UI automation for web, API
automation for web, UI automation for mobile apps, and API automation for mobile apps. – Strong programming/scripting skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript. – Hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, or Cypress for web UI automation. – Hands-on experience with Appium (or equivalent) for mobile app automation on Android and/or iOS. – Strong experience with API automation tools such as REST Assured, Postman/Newman, or Karate. – Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar). – Solid understanding of automation design patterns — Page Object Model, data-driven, and keyword-driven
frameworks. – Comfortable with Git and working in Agile/Scrum delivery cycles. – Strong debugging and analytical skills to quickly isolate root cause across UI, API, and mobile layers. – Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
05 Good to Have – Experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber or SpecFlow. – Exposure to performance testing tools such as JMeter or Gatling. – Experience with cloud device farms — BrowserStack, Sauce Labs, or Firebase Test Lab. – Working knowledge of Docker/Kubernetes for managing test environments. – ISTQB or an equivalent automation/testing certification.
