Job Deascription:
We are seeking a Lab Assistant for the Department of Science and Humanities. The Lab Assistant will work under the direction of the Science and Humanities faculty and assist with the day-to-day operations of the lab. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and be able to work effectively in a rapid-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
Assisting with the setup and maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus
Preparing materials and supplies for lab experiments
Assisting faculty members and students during lab sessions
Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of the laboratory
Ensuring that all laboratory equipment is functioning properly and calibrated accurately
Coordinating with vendors and suppliers to procure necessary materials and supplies
Adhering to all laboratory safety protocols and procedures
Documenting lab experiments and maintaining accurate records
Qualifications:
Associate's degree or higher in Science, Mathematics, or a related field
Prior experience in a laboratory setting is preferred
Familiarity with laboratory equipment and software related to science and humanities fields
Solid technical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work effectively in a team setting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
