Role & responsibilities
Qualification: MBBS with MS/MD/DNB in Ophthalmology.
Experience: Relevant experience in ophthalmology; fresh postgraduates may also be considered based on hospital requirements.
Registration: Valid registration with the State Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.
Skills Required: Clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, patient counselling, and management of ophthalmic conditions.
Key Competencies: Positive communication, clinical decision-making, patient care, and teamwork.

Preferred candidate profile
Examine patients, diagnose eye conditions, and provide appropriate medical and surgical treatment.
Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity and ocular health.
Diagnose and manage conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors, and other eye disorders.
Prescribe medications, corrective lenses,



and other treatments as clinically indicated.
Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as per qualification, expertise, and hospital privileges.
Refer patients for specialised investigations or advanced treatment whenever required.
Provide patient and family counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans, and preventive eye care.
Maintain accurate patient records, clinical documentation, and treatment plans.
Coordinate with other departments and healthcare specialists for integrated patient care.
Adhere to hospital policies, infection control protocols, medical ethics, and patient safety standards.
