Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will handle day-to-day accounting transactions specific to freight forwarding and logistics, including freight invoicing, carrier bill reconciliation, vendor payments, and customer collections. This is an excellent opportunity for an entry-level to mid-level finance professional to gain hands-on experience in global shipping accounting and supply chain financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Job Costing & Freight Billing: Generate accurate customer invoices for ocean, air, and land freight shipments based on agreed rates, quotes, and bills of lading (B/L).

Accounts Payable (A/P): Process and verify incoming vendor invoices (shipping lines, co loaders, truckers, customs brokers, and port authorities). Match invoices against vendor quotes and job profit sheets.

Accounts Receivable (A/R): Monitor customer accounts, issue account statements, follow up on outstanding payments, and resolve billing discrepancies with clients or account managers.

Reconciliation: Perform daily/monthly bank reconciliations and reconcile freight vendor statements to ensure accurate accruals and job profitability.

Customs & Duty Tracking: Assist with tracking, processing,



and recording duty disbursements, customs clearance fees, and demurrages/detention charges.

General Ledger & Month-End: Assist the Senior Accountant in posting journal entries, preparing month-end balance sheet reconciliations, and tracking prepaid expenses/accruals.

Documentation & Filing: Maintain well-organized electronic records of shipping documentation, proof of deliveries (PODs), tax certificates, and audit trails.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

Experience: 1–2 years of accounting experience.

Software Skills: Proficiency in MS Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables) and accounting software (e.g. - Tally,).

Industry Knowledge: Basic understanding of shipping concepts (Incoterms, Ocean/Air Bills of Lading, demurrage, detention, and freight job costing) is a solid advantage.

Skills: Excellent attention to detail, strong numerical skills, and explicit verbal and written communication.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
