Duties
Assist patients in choosing eyewear that fits their lifestyle, style preferences, and prescription needs
Take accurate measurements of pupils, refraction data, and frame fitting to ensure optimal vision correction
Conduct basic eye tests, including visual acuity assessments and vital signs such as blood pressure or pulse if needed
Support clinical staff with laboratory tasks like lens edging, frame adjustments, and quality control checks
Maintain accurate medical records using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems such as Epic or similar platforms
Educate patients on proper eyewear care, contact lens usage, and general eye health practices




Manage retail sales of eyewear products while providing excellent customer service to enhance patient satisfaction

Qualifications
Prior optical experience or strong familiarity with ophthalmology practices is highly preferred
Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy of the eye, physiology, and medical coding enhances your effectiveness in this role
Experience with EMR systems like Epic or other clinic management software is advantageous
Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient privacy and confidentiality at all times
Ability to perform laboratory tasks such as lens fitting and aseptic techniques in a clinical setting
Strong retail sales skills combined with retail math proficiency to manage inventory and sales transactions
Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively and collaborate with healthcare professionals
