JOB SUMMARY

We are looking for an experienced Metallurgical Engineer with robust knowledge of foundry operations, cast iron (CI) grades, metal casting processes, and metallurgical quality control. The candidate will be responsible for material analysis, testing, defect investigation, and ensuring that cast components meet the required quality standards.

ROLE:

- Monitor and control metallurgical processes in foundry and metal casting operations.




- Ensure the required chemical composition and metallurgical properties of cast iron (CI) grades.
- Perform or coordinate chemical analysis, hardness testing, microstructure examination, and other metallurgical tests.
- Analyze casting defects such as porosity, shrinkage, cracks, blowholes, and inclusions.
- Support process optimization to improve casting quality and reduce rejection rates.
- Coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve metallurgical issues.
- Maintain testing reports, inspection records, and material traceability documents.
- Ensure compliance with customer specifications and applicable quality standards.
- Recommend corrective and preventive actions for recurring quality issues.
- Support trials, new grade development, and continuous improvement activities.

SKILL

- Strong knowledge of cast iron grades and foundry metallurgy.
- Understanding of melting, pouring, solidification, and casting processes.
- Knowledge of chemical composition analysis and metallurgical testing.
- Experience with spectrometers, hardness testers, and metallurgical microscopes.
- Ability to identify casting defects and perform root cause analysis.
- Valuable analytical, problem-solving, and documentation skills.

Preferred Candidates

- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in foundry or metal casting.
- Hands-on experience with CI grades and metallurgical quality control.
- Experience working with production and quality teams in a manufacturing environment.
- Candidates with practical foundry experience will be preferred.
