2. Role Overview

Velaroofi is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Assistant Merchandiser to support merchandise planning, inventory coordination, product presentation, and day-to-day retail operations.

The selected candidate will work closely with store staff, sales teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure product availability, accurate pricing, effective product displays, and compliance with merchandising standards. The role requires strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, along with a customer-focused approach and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment.

3. Key Responsibilities

- Merchandise Presentation: Arrange and maintain product displays to ensure an attractive, organized, and visually appealing retail setting.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock availability, track inventory levels, identify stock shortages, and coordinate replenishment as required.
- Product Pricing and Labelling: Ensure accurate product pricing, labelling, tagging, and placement in accordance with company guidelines.
- Sales and Performance Tracking: Assist in monitoring product performance, sales trends,



and stock movement to support merchandising decisions.
- Promotional Activities: Support the implementation of promotional displays, product launches, seasonal campaigns, and in-store marketing activities.
- Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with store teams, suppliers, and relevant departments to ensure timely product availability and smooth merchandising operations.
- Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and maintain basic inventory records, sales reports, merchandising updates, and stock-related documentation.
- Customer Support: Assist customers with product availability, placement, and basic product-related queries whenever required.
- Store Maintenance: Maintain cleanliness, organization, and consistency across product displays and merchandising areas.
- Compliance and Quality Checks: Conduct regular checks to identify misplaced, damaged, incorrectly priced, or poorly displayed merchandise and ensure timely corrective action.

4. Qualifications and Skills

- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate professionally with customers, store staff, suppliers, and internal teams.
- Retail and Customer Service Skills: Understanding of customer expectations, retail operations, and the importance of a positive in-store experience.
- Merchandising Skills: Ability to organize products, maintain attractive displays, follow merchandising guidelines, and support promotional activities.
- Sales and Marketing Understanding: Basic knowledge of product positioning, retail promotions, and sales-driven merchandising practices.
- Inventory and Analytical Skills: Ability to monitor stock levels, maintain records,



track product movement, and prepare basic reports.
- Organizational Skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to prioritize daily merchandising activities.
- Computer Proficiency: Basic working knowledge of MS Excel, Google Sheets, inventory management tools, or POS systems.
- Problem-Solving Ability: Willingness to identify operational issues, coordinate with relevant teams, and implement practical solutions.
- Relevant Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience in retail merchandising, store operations, inventory management, or a related field is preferred.
- Industry Preference: Experience in fashion, apparel, lifestyle, or consumer goods retail will be an added advantage.

5. Work Requirements

- Ability to work full-time on-site at Kondhwa, Pune.
- Willingness to work six days per week, including weekends and during peak retail periods as required.
- Ability to remain active throughout the workday, including standing, walking, and occasional light lifting.
- Commitment to maintaining accuracy, discipline, reliability, and professional conduct.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and adapt to changing retail requirements.
