Role Overview The Senior Quality & Release Lead will own the overall QA strategy, automation standards, quality gates, and release management across multiple development teams. The role also involves leading QA owners across individual journeys, coordinating UAT and release readiness, and tracking quality metrics, including AI-assisted testing outcomes. The ideal candidate combines strong QA leadership and release governance with practical experience using AI tools to improve test design, automation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
• Define the overall QA strategy, risk-based testing approach, automation standards, and quality gates.
• Coordinate testing activities, UAT, release planning, and release readiness across multiple teams.
• Lead and mentor QA owners responsible for individual business journeys.
• Establish release exit criteria covering test execution, defect severity, regression results, and business acceptance.
• Maintain traceability from requirements to test cases and defects.
• Drive AI-assisted test design and test automation adoption across teams.
• Ensure human review and validation of AI-generated test cases, scripts, and test reports.
• Track and report quality metrics, defect escape rates, release stability, automation coverage, and AI-testing metrics.
• Coordinate defect triage and quality-related risks with engineering, product,



and delivery stakeholders. Mandatory Skills & Experience
• 10+ years of QA/testing experience.
• Proven experience leading QA across multiple teams or a multi-team programme.
• Strong knowledge of test strategy, risk-based testing, and automation standards.
• Experience coordinating releases, UAT, and release readiness.
• Experience defining and enforcing quality gates and release exit criteria.
• Experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans or comparable test management tools.
• At least 1 year driving AI-assisted testing or QA.
• Experience using AI tools to support test design, automation, or QA reporting.
• Solid understanding of requirements-to-test-to-defect traceability.
• Ability to measure and improve defect escape rates and release stability.
• Experience coaching QA leads or owners across distributed teams. Preferred Skills
• Playwright and the broader test automation ecosystem.
• Claude, ChatGPT, or equivalent AI tools for test generation and reporting.
• Experience driving AI test automation adoption across teams.
• Experience with complex enterprise or multi-team programme releases.
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop validation of AI-generated test assets.
