Were seeking a talented Device Validation Engineer II to validate debug and help deliver effective solutions that improve the quality and reliability of Surface devices after launch. Responsibilities Validate software driver and firmware updates on Surface devices and accessories and sign off releases against quality criteria. Reproduce debug and triage software issues on Surface products partnering with developers and program managers to drive fixes. Plan and execute test passes and contribute to test strategies test cases and validation coverage. Help set up and maintain lab infrastructure and build and extend test automation frameworks. Support integration and configuration management activities for servicing releases. Assist in building and maintaining telemetry pipelines and dashboards and contribute to data analysis and reporting. Apply an understanding of real-time embedded firmware along with solid troubleshooting skills to help isolate problems quickly. Qualifications Required/Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Electronics or equivalent experience. 5 years experience as a Software Development Engineer or Test or Validation Engineer or equivalent experience.



5 years of experience programming or validating using applications or tools developed in C C C# PowerShell Python or similar languages. Experience in the development and/or validation of personal computing devices tablets mobile phones or other mobile computer devices or accessories gaming systems or servers. Experience developing debugging and/or validating one or more of the following on the Windows operating system kernel-mode device drivers firmware UEFI. Experience developing and executing software testing methodologies strategies procedures tools and metrics. Experience with sustaining or servicing products after launch.
