Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Accountant to manage project-wise accounting, procurement reconciliation, cost monitoring, client invoicing and management reporting across all project sites in India. The candidate will maintain accurate financial records, ensure timely billing and provide reliable financial information to management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Accounting & Cost Control

- Maintain site-wise records of purchases, expenses, material consumption and project revenue.
- Prepare site-wise Profit & Loss statements and monitor project profitability and cost variances.
- Track material procurement and utilisation against approved requirements, identifying discrepancies and cost overruns.

2. Procurement Calculations & Reconciliation

- Prepare material quantity and cost calculations based on project requirements, consumption estimates and applicable specifications to facilitate purchase order preparation.
- Reconcile approved purchase orders with supplier invoices, quantities, rates and delivery records.
- Maintain supplier-wise purchase records, reconcile statements and track outstanding payables.

3. JMR, Invoicing & Receivables

- Proactively follow up with site teams every month for timely preparation, certification and submission of Joint Measurement Reports (JMRs).
- Ensure prompt preparation and submission of client invoices with all required supporting documents.
- Prepare quantity and billing reconciliation statements covering executed, certified, billed and pending quantities.




- Follow up on invoice approvals and overdue payments, escalating delays to management.

4. Management Reporting

- Maintain accurate project-wise accounting and procurement records.
- Prepare professional daily MIS reports consolidating site-wise purchases, expenses, billing, collections, outstanding amounts and project profitability.
- Maintain trackers for JMRs, invoicing and pending actions, highlighting discrepancies and issues requiring management intervention.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.Com or equivalent qualification in Accounting or Finance.
- 4–7 years of relevant experience, preferably in industrial contracting, EPC, construction or project-based businesses.
- Practical ERPNext experience preferred.
- Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS and data reconciliation.
- Positive understanding of purchase accounting, GST invoices, accounts payable, accounts receivable and project costing.

- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to independently manage accounting and reporting across multiple sites.
- Excellent coordination and follow-up skills with site teams, suppliers and clients.
- Proactive, organised and capable of meeting strict daily and monthly deadlines.

Important: This is a head-office-based role requiring ownership of project accounting, purchase calculations, monthly billing follow-ups, cost monitoring and management reporting across all India sites. Candidates with experience limited to routine bookkeeping will not be suitable.
