Job Description – MEP Engineer

Position Overview

The MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Engineer will be responsible for designing,

coordinating, and supervising all MEP systems in building and infrastructure projects. The role involves

ensuring compliance with technical standards, codes, and project requirements while supporting project

execution from concept to completion.

Key Responsibilities

 Design, review, and oversee the installation of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire

protection systems.

 Prepare MEP drawings, BOQs, specifications, and design calculations.

 Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless

integration of services.

 Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and adherence to design standards.

 Resolve technical issues related to MEP works during design and execution phases.

 Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.





 Ensure compliance with local building codes, safety standards, and sustainability

requirements.

 Liaise with contractors, consultants, and suppliers for smooth project execution.

 Prepare and maintain project documentation, progress reports, and test certificates.

 Support in value engineering and cost optimization for MEP systems.

Key Skills & Competencies

 Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical distribution, lighting, fire protection, water supply,

and drainage systems.

 Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, Dialux, ETAP, or similar

tools.

 Positive understanding of MEP codes and standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, IPC, etc.).

 Excellent problem-solving, coordination, and project management skills.

 Strong communication and interpersonal skills for multidisciplinary teamwork
