Looking for Role Title: VMC Setter / VMC Setter-cum-Operator

- Core Objective: Prepare, calibrate, and set up Vertical Machining Centers to manufacture precision metal or alloy components according to engineering drawings and production plans.

Key Responsibilities

- Machine Setup: Perform complete machine setups, including mounting and aligning workpieces, vices, and custom fixtures.
- Tooling & Offsets: Select, load, and measure cutting tools; set tool length and work coordinate system (WCS) offsets on the controller.
- Program Loading & Dry Runs: Load, verify, and "prove out" CNC/VMC programs (Fanuc, Siemens, Mitsubishi, or Okuma controls) safely on the first-off component.
- Quality & Inspection: Measure finished parts using precision instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMM data) to ensure compliance with GD&T; (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) drawings.
- Batch/Mass Production: Hand over the machine to VMC operators after a successful first-article inspection or run the machine independently during batch production.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Monitor tool wear, adjust offsets, fix minor program or mechanical issues, and follow shop-floor safety protocols
