Key Responsibilities & Duties

Machine Operation

- Operate cold forging, bolt former, part former, nut former, and thread rolling machines as per approved SOPs and work instructions.
- Verify machine settings, tooling, raw material grade, batch number, and component identification before production.
- Follow approved setup parameters and obtain setup approval before commencing mass production.
- Maintain continuous machine operation and achieve daily and shift-wise production targets.
- Monitor machine performance and report abnormal noise, vibration, load variation, or breakdowns immediately.

Quality Control & Inspection

- Inspect first-off components and obtain approval from the authorized inspector or supervisor before mass production.
- Conduct in-process inspections according to the control plan and specified inspection frequency.
- Check critical dimensions, thread profiles, head dimensions, length, diameter, and visual defects as applicable.
- Identify and segregate rejected, suspected, and rework components as per the approved identification procedure.
- Maintain setup approval records and in-process inspection sheets.
- Follow poka-yoke requirements and prevent the production of nonconforming components.

Tooling & Machine Maintenance

- Inspect punches, dies, trimming tools, thread rolling dies, and other tooling for wear or damage.
- Monitor tool life and record tool changes as per approved standards.
- Perform autonomous maintenance activities, including cleaning, lubrication, and basic machine checks.
- Report tool breakage, abnormal ejection, die pickup, and other machine abnormalities to the supervisor.
- Never bypass safety devices or make unauthorized machine adjustments.

Production & Documentation

- Record hourly production, rejection quantities, machine downtime, and tool changes accurately.
- Ensure traceability of raw materials and components through correct grade, batch number, and identification records.
- Communicate production status, pending issues,



and abnormal conditions during shift handover.

Safety, 5S & Environmental Compliance

- Wear prescribed personal protective equipment (PPE), including safety shoes, ear protection, and safety glasses as required.
- Follow machine guarding, interlock, emergency stop, and lockout/tagout procedures.
- Maintain workplace cleanliness and organization in accordance with 5S standards.
- Segregate scrap and waste as per company procedures.
- Comply with workplace safety rules and environmental management requirements.
- Stop the machine and immediately inform the supervisor if any unsafe condition is identified.

Reporting & Coordination

- Report to the Production Supervisor / Shift In-charge.
- Coordinate with the Quality and Maintenance teams to resolve production and machine-related issues.
- Report production output, rejection, downtime, tooling issues, and quality deviations to the supervisor.
- Ensure proper shift handover and communicate pending activities and machine status to the incoming operator or supervisor.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Education: ITI / Diploma / BE in Mechanical, Production, or a related discipline.
- Experience: 510 years of relevant experience in the fasteners industry, cold forging, bolt forming, nut forming, or thread rolling.
- Technical Skills: Basic machine operation, engineering drawing interpretation, use of measuring instruments, and in-process inspection.
- Personal Skills: Discipline, teamwork, problem-solving, safety awareness, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet production deadlines.

Preferred Skills

- Experience in the bright steel, forging, or fasteners manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of ISO standards and quality management systems.
- Team-handling and leadership abilities.
