Role Description The VMC Setter with programming knowledge will be responsible for setting up and operating Vertical Machining Centers, including selecting tools, fixtures, and setting work coordinates for production runs. Daily tasks include reading and interpreting technical drawings, preparing and adjusting VMC programs, performing trial runs, and ensuring components meet dimensional and quality standards. The role involves routine inspection of parts, basic machine maintenance, troubleshooting machining issues, and collaborating with engineers and quality teams to improve process efficiency.

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thirumudivakkam-Chennai,



requiring close coordination with the production team to meet delivery schedules and maintain safety and housekeeping standards on the shop floor.

Qualifications

- Candidates should possess strong Knowledge Management and Knowledge Sharing skills to maintain and update machining/programming practices and support team learning.
- Candidates should possess good Analytical Skills and problem-solving abilities to interpret drawings, optimize machining parameters, and resolve production issues.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication and Customer Service skills to coordinate with internal stakeholders and support timely, quality-focused delivery to clients.
- Hands-on experience in VMC setting (preferably Fanuc or similar controls), including tool selection, offsets, and program editing.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, use measuring instruments (vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges), and work to close tolerances.
- Understanding of basic manufacturing processes, cutting speeds and feeds, and shop-floor safety practices.
- Preferred: Diploma/ITI in Mechanical or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience in precision component manufacturing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented setting, manage time effectively, and adapt to production priorities.
