Role & responsibilities

Job Summary The Infection Control Nurse is responsible for implementing and monitoring infection prevention and control practices across the hospital to minimize healthcare-associated infections (HAIs), ensure patient and staff safety, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and applicable healthcare standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement and monitor infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
- Conduct surveillance for healthcare-associated infections and report findings.
- Monitor hand hygiene compliance, personal protective equipment (PPE) usage, and isolation precautions.
- Conduct regular infection control audits and ward inspections.
- Educate and train healthcare staff on infection prevention practices.
- Monitor biomedical waste segregation, handling, and disposal.
- Coordinate with clinical departments, housekeeping, laboratory, and nursing teams to prevent infection risks.
- Investigate infection outbreaks and support corrective and preventive actions.




- Maintain infection control records, surveillance data, and audit reports.
- Monitor sterilization, disinfection, and environmental cleaning practices.
- Participate in infection control committee meetings and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital infection control policies, NABH requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.

Preferred candidate profile Experience:3 to 5 years of nursing experience, preferably in infection control or a hospital clinical setting.
