Core Responsibilities

- Load Calculations: Compute dead loads (weight of the structure itself), live loads (people and furniture), and environmental forces like wind or tremors according to resources like Go Construct.
- Blueprint & Plan Design: Translate architectural concepts into technical drawings and blueprints for beams, columns, and foundations.
- Material Selection: Choose appropriate, cost-effective building materials such as reinforced concrete, structural steel, timber, or masonry.
- Safety & Code Compliance: Ensure all plans meet legal standards and local building codes (such as national Indian Standards like IS 456 or IS 800).
- Site Inspections: Visit construction sites or older properties to evaluate structural integrity, monitor contractor work, or advise on repairs and demolitions
