What the role is

You run the store. Every metre of fabric, every trim, every accessory that comes in, sits, or goes out passes through you. And you keep the record of it, accurate and current, so nobody on the floor ever has to guess what’s in stock or who’s holding what.

What you’ll do

Inward

- Receive fabric and materials from suppliers. Check quantity, width, shade and quality against the PO and challan before accepting.
- Raise shortage, damage or quality issues with Purchase and QC the same day.
- Tag, label and shelve everything by lot, shade and article so it can be found in two minutes.
- Enter GRN on the day of receipt. No next-day entries.

Outward and issuing

- Issue material to sampling, cutting, production, stitching and outside vendors only against a written requisition or issue slip.
- Send job-work material to vendors with a proper challan. Track what went out, what’s due back, and chase what’s late.
- Take back leftover fabric, rejects and cut-pieces, and record them. Don’t let returns pile up unlogged.

Records and control

- Maintain live stock registers (fabric, trims, accessories, packing material): opening, inward, issued, returned, balance.
- Keep a vendor-wise ledger of material issued and received, with pending balances.
- Do periodic physical stock counts and reconcile with system records. Report variances and the reason behind them.
- Share a daily stock movement summary and a weekly report on slow-moving, dead and short stock with management.
- Flag low stock early,



before production finds out the hard way.

Store upkeep

- Keep the store clean, organised and secure. Fabric stored properly, away from damp, dust and pests.
- Manage store staff, helpers and loaders. Assign work, supervise, make sure they follow the process.
- Control who enters the store. No material moves without paperwork.

What we’re looking for

- 2 to 5 years of store management in textile, garment, home furnishing or export manufacturing
- Hands-on with fabric inward/outward, GRN, challans and job-work tracking
- Comfortable with Excel. Experience with ERP or stock software is a big plus
- Strong on detail. You notice when a count is off by ten metres
- Can work with Production, Sampling, Purchase and QC without waiting to be chased
- Able to lead a small team and hold the line on process
- Graduate preferred. Experience matters more than the degree

Good to have

- Experience with export house documentation and buyer-specific material tracking
- Knowledge of fabric types, GSM, width and shade lots

How you’ll be judged

- Stock accuracy (physical vs. record)
- Same-day entry of every inward and issue
- Pending vendor material and return follow-up
- Zero unrecorded movements
- How fast anyone can find a fabric lot when they ask

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
