Database Administrator (DBA)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments across Production, Development, and Test systems. The candidate will be responsible for database administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, high availability/disaster recovery (HA/DR), maintenance activities, incident management, database migrations, and security compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Database Administration

- Install, configure, patch, and maintain database environments across Production, Development, and Test systems.

- Manage database upgrades, environment configurations, and capacity planning activities.

- Ensure database availability, reliability, and operational efficiency.

Backup &

- Recovery

- Implement and manage database backup and recovery strategies.

- Perform periodic restore validations and disaster recovery testing.

- Ensure backup integrity and compliance with organizational policies.

Performance Tuning

- Monitor database performance including CPU, memory, storage, and I/O utilization.

- Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks, blocking sessions, and deadlocks.

- Optimize SQL queries, indexes, and database configurations for improved performance.

High Availability &

- Disaster Recovery (HA/DR)

- Configure and manage High Availability solutions such as Always On Availability Groups, Clustering, and Replication.

- Troubleshoot HA/DR-related issues and ensure minimal downtime.

- Support failover testing and DR drills.

Maintenance &

- Deployment

- Perform routine database maintenance activities including index maintenance, database health checks, and statistics updates.

- Involve in patch activity during business and non-business hours.

- Ensure smooth deployment activities with minimal business impact.





Incident &

- Production Support

- Provide support for database incidents including job failures, deadlocks, blocking sessions, and long-running queries.

- Participate in on-call support and critical issue resolution.

- Coordinate with application, infrastructure, and support teams for incident management.

Migration &

- Security

- Plan and execute database migration activities across environments/platforms.

- Manage database users, roles, permissions, and access controls.

- Identify and remediate database security vulnerabilities and compliance issues.

Required Skills &

- Experience

- Robust experience in database administration and production support.

- Hands-on experience with SQL Server administration and HA technologies.

- Expertise in backup/recovery, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.

- Experience managing Always On, Clustering, and Replication environments.

- Knowledge of database security best practices and migration activities.

- Familiarity with monitoring and maintenance tools.

- Ability to work in a 24x7 support environment and handle critical incidents.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

- Relevant database certifications are preferred.

- Experience working in enterprise production environments.

Soft Skills

- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

- Good communication and stakeholder coordination abilities.

- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.

- Strong documentation and reporting skills.

Experience

- Candidate should have hands-on experience on Microsoft SQL Server (20192022) for at least 3 to 5 years.

Pay: ₹400,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
