? About the Role
At Texas Instruments (MSP Group), we engineer the nervous systems of tomorrow's autonomous vehicles and intelligent industrial platforms. We are seeking a Software Quality & Functional Safety Lead — a strategic, technically deep professional who serves as the organization's ultimate Guardian of Code Integrity.
This is not a conventional QA role. It is a dual-mandate leadership position that combines SQA governance with hands-on Functional Safety and Cybersecurity assessment across TI's most advanced connectivity and processing portfolios.
? Key Responsibilities
- SQA Leadership: Define, implement, and continuously evolve Software Quality Assurance frameworks aligned with ASPICE, ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ISO 21434.
- Functional Safety Assessment: Lead safety lifecycle assessments, hazard analyses (HARA), and FMEAs for automotive and industrial-grade software systems.
- Cybersecurity Governance: Drive TARA (Threat Analysis & Risk Assessment) processes in alignment with ISO 21434.
- Process Baselining: Establish organizational baselines, quality gates, and metrics dashboards to accelerate secure, scalable software delivery.
- Internal Auditing: Conduct and lead ASPICE and ISO 26262 internal audits; track findings to closure with development teams.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with embedded software, systems engineering, and executive leadership to embed quality into every phase of the SDLC.
- Mentorship & Culture: Coach and upskill engineering teams on safety-critical development practices, building a culture of zero-compromise quality.
- Global Standards Representation: Serve as TI's internal subject matter expert in external customer and standards body engagements.
✅ Required Qualifications
- 8–12 years of progressive experience in Software Quality Assurance within automotive or industrial domains.
- Certified or highly proficient Internal Auditor for ISO 26262 and/or ASPICE.
- Deep working knowledge of ASPICE (Automotive SPICE), ISO 26262, IEC 61508, and ISO 21434.
- Proven experience in Functional Safety lifecycle management (Safety Plans, Safety Cases, Work Product reviews).
- Strong understanding of embedded software development processes and V-model lifecycle.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in ambiguous, fast-paced, globally distributed environments.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
? Preferred Qualifications
- Formal certification: ISO 26262 Functional Safety Engineer/Manager (TÜV Rheinland, SGS-TÜV, or equivalent).
- Experience with SOTIF (ISO 21448) for autonomous systems.
- Background in semiconductor or chipset development environments.
- Familiarity with tools such as DOORS, Polarion, JIRA, Medini Analyze, or CodeBeamer.
? What Makes This Role Unique
Hybrid Impact :SQA leadership + Functional Safety + Cybersecurity in one role
Technical Depth:Work on cutting-edge ADAS and industrial connectivity silicon
Strategic Visibility: Direct collaboration with executive leadership
Global Influence: Set the gold standard across TI's worldwide engineering teams
