Key Responsibilities

A. Installation and Execution

- Install smart switches, automation modules, relays, sensors, and other smart home devices.
- Install and terminate ELV systems, including CCTV cameras, video door phones, and related equipment.
- Carry out device mounting, cable termination, equipment connections, and rack dressing.
- Assist with the installation of automation panels and associated field devices.
- Read basic wiring diagrams, layout drawings, and installation instructions.
- Coordinate with the client's electrician and other site personnel to ensure correct installation.

B. Testing and Pre-Commissioning

- Perform preliminary checks on installed devices before commissioning.
- Verify power supply, connections, device status, and basic functionality.
- Identify wiring errors, loose connections, faulty devices, and installation defects.
- Rectify installation issues before handing over the system to the commissioning engineer.
- Ensure installations comply with company standards and project requirements.

C. Troubleshooting and Rectification

- Diagnose basic electrical, connectivity, and device-level faults.
- Assist the commissioning engineer in identifying and resolving installation-related issues.
- Replace faulty devices and rectify wiring or termination problems.
- Support service visits when required.
- Escalate complex technical issues to the commissioning engineer or technical team.

D. Workmanship and Documentation

- Maintain neat wiring, proper cable dressing, and professional installation quality.
- Follow electrical safety procedures and use tools correctly.
- Capture site photographs before, during, and after installation.
- Report material shortages, damaged devices, and site constraints promptly.
- Update the project team on completed work, pending tasks, and site readiness.
- Minimise rework through careful installation and self-inspection.

E. Site Coordination and Travel

- Work at residential project sites in Chennai and other locations across Tamil Nadu.
- Coordinate with the Project Manager, commissioning engineer, and other technicians.
- Travel for assignments requiring multiple days at project locations.
- Follow the project schedule and complete assigned work within agreed timelines.
- Maintain accountability for tools, materials, and equipment entrusted to you.

Important: This is a field-based role.



Candidates must be willing to travel across Tamil Nadu and stay at project locations for approximately 4–10 days when required. 3. Required Skills and Experience

Essential requirements

- 2–5 years of hands-on experience in one or more of the following:
- ELV installations
- CCTV installation and maintenance
- BMS field installation
- Access control and video door phones
- Electronics or automation equipment installation
- Basic understanding of electrical connections, wiring, and device troubleshooting.
- Ability to use basic electrical testing instruments, including a multimeter.
- Experience with cable termination, equipment mounting, and installation tools.
- Ability to follow technical instructions and execute tasks independently.
- Willingness to travel and work at sites outside Chennai.
- Good work discipline, punctuality, and attention to detail.

Preferred qualifications

- ITI or Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related discipline.
- Experience with smart home automation products or building automation systems.
- Familiarity with control panels, relays, sensors, networking basics, or low-voltage systems.
- Experience working on premium residential or commercial projects.

Knowledge of KNX, Zigbee, Matter over Thread, or other smart home protocols is not mandatory. Product-specific training will be provided. 4. Candidate Profile

We are looking for someone who:

- Enjoys hands-on technical work rather than exclusively supervisory or office work.
- Can identify basic installation faults instead of waiting for someone else to find them.
- Takes responsibility for the quality of completed work.
- Follows instructions carefully and asks questions when uncertain.
- Can work with project teams and client-side electricians.
- Is comfortable with travel, site conditions, and changing project requirements.
- Wants to develop into a senior technician or automation commissioning skilled.

Candidates who have only theoretical knowledge, are unwilling to travel,



or expect a desk-based role will not be suitable. 5. Compensation Structure

The incentive should be earned through measurable performance rather than treated as guaranteed salary. 6. Career Progression

Based on demonstrated performance, the candidate can progress through the following pathway:

Installation Technician → Senior Installation Technician → Pre-Commissioning Technician → Commissioning Engineer

Progression will depend on technical competency, independent execution, quality of work, and ability to troubleshoot increasingly complex systems.
