Job Brief: JSW Steel Limited is seeking a highly skilled and experienced skilled to oversee and manage the operations of the Blast Furnace department during assigned shifts. The role demands a robust leadership presence to ensure the efficient, safe, and continuous functioning of blast furnace processes, aligning with the company’s commitment to operational excellence and safety standards. The ideal candidate will coordinate with cross-functional teams, monitor production parameters, troubleshoot operational issues, and implement process improvements to optimize output and maintain product quality in a high-volume manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

- Lead and supervise all activities within the blast furnace department during the assigned shift, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Monitor and control blast furnace operations, including temperature, pressure, and raw material feed rates, to maintain optimal process conditions.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations to maintain a secure working environment for all personnel.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and oversee preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
- Analyze operational data and generate shift reports highlighting performance metrics, deviations, and improvement opportunities.




- Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process efficiency, reduce costs, and improve product quality.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate shift personnel to build a competent and motivated team capable of meeting production targets.
- Respond promptly to operational emergencies and troubleshoot technical issues to restore normal operations swiftly.
- Collaborate with quality control and engineering departments to resolve production challenges and implement best practices.
- Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all shift activities, incidents, and maintenance work.

Preferred Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in blast furnace operations or heavy manufacturing environments, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or shift leadership role.
