Technical Lead / Senior Software Engineer - ServiceNow Developer

Role Summary

We are building a ServiceNow practice and need developers who do the build work well. You will configure and develop on the platform to designs set by the Technical Lead and Architect, own your deliverables end to end, and be accountable for the quality of what you ship.

This is a hands-on build role with a transparent path into technical leadership. Healthcare and Life Sciences exposure is preferred but not required at this level.

Key Responsibilities

Build and Configuration

- Configure and develop on the platform: forms, workflows, business rules, script includes, client scripts, UI policies, and UI actions.
- Build automations in Flow Designer and connect systems using IntegrationHub spokes.
- Develop scoped applications to the design and standards set by the Technical Lead.
- Build and maintain integrations over REST and SOAP, including inbound and outbound web services, import sets, and transform maps.
- Create and maintain Service Portal widgets, catalog items, record producers, and order guides.

Quality and Delivery

- Write and maintain tests in the Automated Test Framework, and fix defects raised in SIT and UAT.
- Follow the team coding standards, peer review process, and update set or application repository discipline.
- Estimate your own work, report status honestly, and raise blockers early rather than late.
- Document what you build so the next person can maintain it without asking you.

Collaboration

- Work with Business Analysts to close gaps in requirements before the build starts.
- Participate in stand-ups, sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives.




- Support production deployments and post go-live hypercare.

Required Qualifications

Software Engineer (3 to 5 years)
- 3+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development.
- Strong JavaScript on both sides of the platform: Glide APIs, business rules, script includes, client scripts.
- Working knowledge of the ServiceNow data model, ACLs, and update set management.
- Delivered at least one module end to end (ITSM, ITOM, CSM, HRSD, SecOps, ITAM, or SPM).
- Experience building REST or SOAP integrations.
- Comfortable working in Agile teams split across locations.

Senior Software Engineer (5 to 8 years)

All of the above, plus:

- 5+ years on ServiceNow across at least two full implementation lifecycles.
- Scoped application development, with depth in Flow Designer or IntegrationHub.
- Service Portal widget development including HTML, CSS, and the portal scripting framework.
- Able to break a feature into tasks and guide one or two junior developers through it.
- Performance-aware development: query efficiency, async processing, and instance impact.

Preferred Qualifications

- HCLS exposure. Delivery for payers, providers, PBMs, or life sciences organizations.
- Familiarity with member services, provider lifecycle, prior authorization, or appeals and grievances workflows.
- CMDB and CSDM familiarity.
- Now Assist and platform AI capabilities.
- Source control integration, CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow, and ATF automation at scale.

Certifications

- Required: Certified System Administrator (CSA). Candidates at SE level may be considered if certification is completed within three months of joining.
- Preferred for SSE: Certified Application Developer (CAD).

- • Plus: Certified Implementation Specialist (CIS) in any module.
