Role Description :

This is a full time, on-site Senior Full-Stack Lead role based in Kolkata.

The Senior

Full-Stack Lead will design, develop, and maintain end-to-end features using TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and React, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across the stack. The role involves leading architecture decisions, reviewing code, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with product and design teams to deliver scalable, API-first financial services.

The Senior

Full-Stack Lead will also own CI/CD and production deployments. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new product capabilities, optimizing databases and APIs, improving frontend user experience, and ensuring adherence to best practices in testing, documentation, and deployment.



The person in this role will play a key part in shaping UnPay's technical roadmap and fostering engineering excellence.

Qualifications :

- 6+ years of software development experience, including 2+ years leading an engineering team.
- Strong full-stack engineering skills with TypeScript and Node.js for backend services, and React for modern frontend development.
- Hands-on experience with relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL, including schema design, query optimization, and data integrity.
- Proficiency in building and consuming RESTful APIs, with a focus on secure, scalable, and maintainable API design.
- Experience with caching and message queues (e.g., Redis, RabbitMQ).
- Experience building payment or banking systems where correctness matters: idempotency, transaction safety, reconciliation, and bank or partner API integrations.
- Hands-on experience running production systems on Linux: zero-downtime deploys, monitoring, and incident response.
- Background in system architecture and modular system design, and familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Competence in testing and quality practices, including unit testing, integration testing, and use of CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience leading engineering teams, conducting code reviews, mentoring developers, and setting technical standards.
- Understanding of security, compliance, and reliability concerns in financial or fintech systems is highly beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, collaboration skills, and the capacity to work effectively in an on-site, fast-paced product environment.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
