Position Overview

The Canada Accounts Executive / Bookkeeper will be responsible for end to end bookkeeping, compliance, and financial record management for Canadian clients. This role requires hands-on experience with Xero and QuickBooks, strong knowledge of Canadian indirect taxes (GST/HST), and the ability to accurately manage reconciliations, payroll, and statutory filings. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively communicate with clients to ensure smooth accounting operations and timely deliverables.

Responsibilities

- Perform day-to-day bookkeeping in Xero and QuickBooks Online/Desktop.

- Ensure accurate posting of financial transactions including invoices, bills, receipts, payments,



and journal entries.

- Maintain an organized chart of accounts aligned with Canadian accounting practices.

- Verify and interpret accounting documents such as invoices, bank statements, receipts, vendor statements, etc.

- Calculate and record GST/HST accurately based on province-specific rules.

- Prepare and file GST/HST returns within statutory timelines.

- Reconcile GST/HST accounts and ensure accuracy between books and CRA filings.

- Conduct monthly bank reconciliations for all client accounts.

- Reconcile credit card statements, loan accounts, and other financial accounts.

- Perform HST/GST reconciliation and troubleshoot discrepancies.

- Process payroll through supported platforms or record payroll entries in the accounting system.
