About the OpportunityWe are looking for an experienced Senior Azure Cloud & Data Platform Architect to take end-to-end technical ownership of migrating and evolving an existing, production-grade Azure Data Platform from Azure Synapse Analytics to Microsoft Fabric for a global MNC.

This is an outcome-driven engagement requiring someone who can assess the current-state architecture, define the target-state solution, establish the migration roadmap, and drive execution through to a secure, scalable, high-performing, production-ready platform.

Key Responsibilities

- Assess the existing Azure Synapse-based data platform, architecture, infrastructure and operational landscape.
- Define the target-state Microsoft Fabric architecture and end-to-end migration strategy.
- Develop a practical migration roadmap covering workloads, data pipelines, dependencies, performance and business continuity.
- Take technical ownership of architecture decisions and guide implementation through to production readiness.
- Ensure security, networking, identity, access management, governance and compliance align with enterprise standards.
- Drive platform scalability, performance optimisation, reliability, monitoring and operational readiness.
- Establish or improve DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation and deployment processes.
- Collaborate with enterprise stakeholders, data engineering teams and platform teams to manage technical risks and dependencies.

Required Expertise




- Extensive hands-on experience in Azure cloud and enterprise data platform architecture.
- Strong expertise in Azure Synapse Analytics, including dedicated SQL pools, data pipelines and related platform components.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft Fabric architecture, including OneLake, Fabric Data Factory, Lakehouse, Warehouse and capacity management.
- Strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure, networking, identity, security, governance and enterprise integration.
- Proven experience designing and evolving production-grade data platforms at enterprise scale.
- Ability to translate architectural strategy into executable plans and drive technical delivery end to end.
- Strong stakeholder management, technical leadership and problem-solving skills.

Desirable: Experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions, CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, automated deployments, monitoring and FinOps. What We’re Looking ForWe need a hands-on architect who combines strategic thinking with execution capability - not someone who only produces architecture documents.

The ideal candidate can independently own technical outcomes, make sound architecture decisions, resolve complex platform challenges and guide teams towards a successful production deployment.

Part time engagement is welcome for candidates who can commit the required expertise, ownership and availability to deliver the agreed outcomes.
