Role Description The Senior AI Engineer will design, build, and optimize AI systems that power Superfan.ng’s learning and recommendation experiences. This full-time, remote role includes developing and deploying machine learning models, with a strong focus on natural language processing to support African languages and cultural content.

Day-to-day responsibilities involve data preprocessing, model training and evaluation, integration of AI services into the product, and close collaboration with product, engineering, and content teams. The Senior AI Engineer will also be responsible for setting technical direction for AI architecture, improving performance and scalability,



and ensuring ethical and inclusive AI practices.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Software Development, including algorithms, data structures, and production-grade coding practices.
- Proficiency in Neural Networks and Pattern Recognition, with experience building and deploying deep learning models.
- Hands-on expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP), preferably with multilingual or low-resource language models.
- Experience with modern ML frameworks and tools (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, Hugging Face, cloud ML services) and MLOps best practices.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to design scalable AI systems, write clean and maintainable code, and work effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Interest in African languages and cultures; prior work with culturally relevant or educational technology is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
